This is old now, but the video simply repeats what is in the little pamphlet. The question is what do they actually __DO__ to the sound, especially Unisons and Loops?
@OllieLoops19 сағат бұрын
This video demonstrates what the effects do so each effect can be heard. Written descriptions can be challenging both to write and to understand. It’s usually best to hear it and make sense of it that way. Hope that helps.

it doesn't fit the baby ball gag really well. The microphone touches the inside of the ball gag.

Interesting. I think it’s a close fit, but I don’t recall it touching. I haven’t noticed any noise caused by the BBG fit.

There’s an app that needs to be installed called Elektron Engine. That handles USB communication between the device and the computer. Is that installed and does your Digitakt appear in Engine?

I`m using this mike for 3 years for field ambient and interior recording. The mike is quiet, that`s right. But it`s stereo is arguable. Very very narrow sound, with only a tint of a stereo. U can barely define that sound is spacious. It`s very strange "stereo" mike

this is real and useful information, much appreciated! one question; can the MPC be connected to send MIDI clock to a couple synths , send a click track to a drummer and trigger sampled sounds on pads while playing a sequence like in song mode ?
@OllieLoops7 күн бұрын
I believe you could do this, but the tricky part is sending a click track to a drummer. You would need an MPC with multiple outputs. Then program a click within the song to only output on one set of outputs. The rest of the sounds triggered by the pads would go to the main output. For the midi clock, connect the synths via USB or 5 pin din, and configure midi clock to be sent out according to the connection type and midi channel selected. It’s a complicated setup, but I think it is possible. Hope that helps.

Can someone explain the GAME CHANGER tip at 1:58? I don't fully understand what it means. 1. I get he recorded a drum loop as a melodic sample, and then copied it to a drum slot. 2. But then he keeps holding WRITE and SOUND and now presses additional numbers. Is that right? 3. So not only does the melodic drum sample get copied to the drum slot and divided into 16 equal pieces (spread across the 16 number keys) but the entire drum sample also gets copied to the additional numbers he presses after? Is that right?
@goldfishy13 күн бұрын
I think I understand. So doing my steps 1 and 2, you can keep repeating that process to build your own custom drum kit with instruments assigned to any number you want. 1. Load the sound you want to use (hold SOUND + 1-8) to select a sound. Could be anything: a vocal, a piano key, anything 2. Now hold WRITE + SOUND and then select your drum lot number (let's say 9) and then press the number (1-16) where you want to assign your new instrument sample (let's say 7) 3. If you now load that drum slot (9), you only overwrote the number you chose (7). The rest of your drum kit is preserved. I think that's right. Maybe?

How does it do with MIDI clocks? I've read online that the 404 doesn't like syncing to external source via MIDI in? Is this true, or just a rumour? I'm considering getting a SP404 mk2 as my first hardware sampler. I will deffo be wanting to sync it to external source so if you have any info on that, that would be wicked. Folks in groups and forums n stuff say that it is fine as the master sending out clock via MIDI, but if it's synced to something else it doesn't like it and goes out of phase after a few bars? Cheers

These are not practical examples. I want to play electric piano, let the MPC do the drums with fills and a beautiful ending whenever I want. Since I cannot play base gitar, this should be added by the MPC one at the correct key. This seems not possible, which makes the MPC useless. What I saw in the movie, any freeware sequencer can do.

Great video, very detailed and unique, very impressive, thank you! Now a question from a newbie to the expert: What would be the ideal way to connect : 1. MPC Key 37 with Focusrite Scarlett2i4 1(st or 2nd gen, not sure) and a Roland Integra 7? I sort have managed to get some results but what I am looking to do is as follow: 1. Play and be able to hear and record sound from the Integra into the MPC as a MIDI track 2. Play and hear and record the native sounds on the MPC as a plugin track 3. Plug in Guitar + microphone in the Scarlet and play/hear/record in the MPC 4. Overall be able to add different sources and record a multi-track and multi sources project 5. Sound would ideally come out of the Scarlet but direct from the PMC Phones output is fine and fine too from the Integra Phones output This is how I imagine the ideal setup of course, the goal is to combine sources and record them all together on a different track or even perhaps, combine and mix some together too Might be easy, but as you seem to like challenge, I thought I'd ask! Many thanks indeed! 😬

Maybe I just don’t understand, the Po’s introduced odd variations on percussion sort of like like the Annie song turning ordinary cleaning tools into percussive instruments, I don’t see hardly anyone using the KO for coming up with their own ideas of fax machines, MRI machines? Why not?

Not sure I follow. Which odd variations are you referring to? With the KO PO33, you can sample the sounds of other devices and make interesting compositions. But I think that’s not common.
