My ranking of new songs: 1. Home Soon (10/10) 2. Judgement Day (10/10) 3. Keep Heaven Dancing (10/10) 4. Die Together (9/10) 5. Winter Wonderland (9/10) 6. Black Man In Hollywood (9/10) 7. Obviously (8/10) 8. Miles (7/10) Overall AMAZING deluxe, I personally think it only makes the original better. I never was THE BIGGEST fan of 2014FHD (I think the original is an 8/10). But the deluxe version makes it imo a 9/10 easily.

I’m a huge fan of dr Dre but this album was horrible. It sounded like a corny tv show soundtrack, like a football drama or something. I’ve went through it twice and cringe on certain parts. Again I’m a huge fan, but just because dr dre’s name is on it, doesn’t mean it counts as good.

I think there's absolutely nothing that everybody would enjoy. Trying to rate this album from the perspective of a casual listener does an injustice to it. There's something for everyone, and there's nothing one can do about someone who just doesn't like a particular product regardless of how good it is.
@JayCluess8 күн бұрын
I think it’s solid but music is subjective and I also don’t rate on a number system because I know each album has an intended audience. You do have to remember that there are more casual listeners than any other so I must talk about the casual side
@msimelelo12908 күн бұрын
@@JayCluess If that's the case, then The Cold Vein, Madvillainy, Run the Jewelz 2, Marcberg, Honor Killed the Samurai, Flygod, and Director's Cut 3 are all merely solid albums because a casual listener would never be able to get into them or see them for the art that they are.
@JayCluess8 күн бұрын
@ you know what the crazy thing is about life, is that it’s ok for someone not to like what you like. I think those albums are amazing, but I know people out there don’t. Hence why I said in my review “this album isn’t for everyone” I even emphasized in my review that “true hiphop/rap fans will love it” I made sure to talk to both audiences. Hopefully my channel can get to a point where I can address one specific audience but that’s not the luxury I have at the moment and I need to appeal to multiple. It’s all good tho not everyone will agree 100% and that’s life
@msimelelo12908 күн бұрын
@@JayCluess definitely agree with that. I think the point of departure is that I don't feel the need to have a disclaimer when praising a work of art/a record. most things are preference and won't appeal to everyone. but I can hear where you're coming from as someone who's trying to cater to/be inclusive of a wider audience. perhaps you feel it's important to contextualise your remarks by saying that Roc Marci and ALC are for a specific audience, and those unfamiliar with their work are likely not going to suddenly get hooked on THE SKELETON KEY. I also feel like you're trying to express your opinion of the album and that sort of clashes with your desire to also be inclusive. it felt like you're saying what people would think of the album rather than what YOU think. but maybe I'm not catching your drift man? anyway I think it's absolutely amazing, and just slightly better than their previous collab LP. of course with that said I'm not expecting it to catch the attention of those who haven't already been enticed by their previous works. not because it's a bad record, just that it's not their kind of music and as you said, that's really fine. it excels in this particular space of rap and leaves one absolutely puzzled at how these two have been at this for so long yet can still create such a compelling project.
