Injected=extra cold and feels like concrete one. I tried all of these options, the solution is intuition liners. Warm, moldable and comfortable.

I’ve been skiing for 9 years. Yeah I still feel like I could be way better. I’ve been feeling really insecure about my form and this really did help.

As an intermediate skier, I was so obsessed with what my feet were doing, I completely forgot my hands’ position, which was sending my posture out of whack. 🙏🏼 Thank you!

As a ski teacher (not to the level you are but 12 years of experience), regarding the misconception of leaning forward... when we're teaching people how to ski we emphasize that pressure in the front of their boots because the natural tendency is to lean backwards so, as you mentioned, it is an overcorrection to help new skiers get their weight in a downhill position. The initial fear of skiing makes people want to lean back so we're emphasizing the opposite in the beginning. Additionally, once a skier begins to advance to steeper slopes, the perfectly balanced stance I may have achieved on a green run, once again, becomes a leaning back if I don't adjust my body positioning and get myself in the downhill position. And now, on that steeper slope, when it almost seems as though I'm leaning forward, in essence I now have a more balanced stance at a steeper angle, if that makes sense. It's easy to lean back and much harder to lean forward in my ski boots, particularly on a steeper slope. Not to contradict here, but to clarify, particularly for those who are new to the sport. I would view this as more of an intermediate step once a skier overcomes the initial tendency to lean back, then they want to think about achieving that balance front to back and side to side, with my weight centered on my skis. Thanks for all your great lesson tips!

The man is back. Great to see. Interestingly enough, before seeing this upload, I bought SIDAS ski boot insoles and can't wait to get on the slopes and use them. They're easy to put in/customise and I can already feel the difference just by trying my Salomon boots on. So much better than the standard insoles you get when you buy your boots. Highly recommend SIDAS insoles.

Love that you are calling out the myth of always staying perfectly leaning forward. I grew up with a mogul background and then switched to telemark skiing, which doesn't have the heels connected. Interesting I found that I could almost ski moguls exactly the same with my heels not connected. That's when I realized was actually skiing moguls centered and adjusting over the peaks and ruts. Anyway now I'm back to alpine freeride skiing. It's been awhile since I've thought about stance, but lately I've been thinking I could make some adjustments to increase my power, balance, stamina and feel more fluid. Thanks for the videos! One question, a slightly rounded back surprised me. I think that's how I ski, but I was considering trying to adjust my posture to a more chest up athletic position. What's the logic for the rounded back?

The picture is beautiful, the music is also good. I see that your right side is a bit blocked and you probably feel that your right turn is not as good as your left turn. You probably haven't been skiing professionally. But you have been faithful to Rossignol for many years ))

On the breathing part also nice and deep breaths yes but if you wanna go the extra mile, long breath in, short breath out. This will activate the sympaticus and therefore give your body the energy to move and do stuff. Short breath in, long breath out will calm you down should you be in a situation of anxiety as it activates the counterpart, the parasympaticus.

Very useful series Darren, extremely well made videos and very high definition. You almost nailed this at 3:12 to 3:20 in the Video but it is still a little vague. Might I suggest: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z56mlYCbr7Kspqcfeature=shared. Just gives the skier a definite point of reference & I found that the "exaggeration" works wonders, but that just might be me. All the best.

Darren, I’m trying to rid myself of the dead spot in transition that you mentioned is a common problem with good skiers. I’m puzzled by what the causes are of this interruption in flow. FYI - I enjoy, with the focus on balance and flow, the “zen” to this series of videos. //Marshall

it's normally because people think, too much of the turn as being one part. Try and blur the lines think about slowing down the hill rather than turning.

I’m absolutely thrilled to see you’ve started another series, Darren! I’m a L2 ski instructor in Canada, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve recommended your earlier series with Elate/SKNG to my clients, because the stuff in that series is just top notch-after all, it helped me get from absolute beginner to where I am now. I expect even greater things to come! (From you at least, and hopefully from myself too) ;-)

Hello. I have a question. When I am making parallel turns, should my body facing downhill along with the fall line and looking down the fall line regardless of the direction of travel of my skis (as it is making the S turn)? Or should I align my body and eyes with the skis and where the ski is going in that moment?

Summary; Right body position: Have the right body position: - soft and relaxed ankles - knees flexed and supple - hips flexed with slightly rounded back Stay over your feet. (Don’t lean too much forward!) Usually slightly more forward at start of turn.
