Can you talk a little bit about how you store hand me downs for your girls clothes, as a minimalist?
@messy2mastery19 сағат бұрын
Absolutely - Our girls are about 21 months apart so when it doesn't fit the older sister, we hand it down to the next one. It's really helpful because we don't need to store anything! When we were waiting to be pregnant with our youngest, we store the baby clothes (about 7-10 outfits) in a suitcase!

This really spoke to me as I felt the same way as you did before I became a mother. I was working as a nurse and thought I would come back once I had my daughter because “there was no way I could just sit at home all day, I would get so bored”. 😅 My daughter was born and I knew I wanted to be home with her. God worked hard on my heart to switch my priorities, as a Christian, wife and mother. Trying daily to strive to be closer to him to serve as a wife and as a mother to my family of soon to be 5 now! ❤

All young women with no logic at all. They deprive their children of the magic of Santa Claus because somehow they think its against Christianity or Jesus. What a shame!
@extrememinimalistparent6 күн бұрын
I don't like the idea of santa (the person we created, not the message), and I am not religious. Didn't like it as a kid (creepy old man we gotta hug or sit on that we don't know to get a gift, like imagine if christmas or the red suit was taken out of the image) and don't like it now.

@jtm0071 I'm sorry for missing this comment. I somehow received two comments from you and I thought this one was the first one. Thanks to Nicole's comment back to you, I was able to see this. My response would be similar to the other comment you posted: I encourage open dialogue and welcome different opinions, but disrespect has no place here. Resorting to unkindness or ridicule reflects poorly on one’s character and doesn’t contribute to meaningful conversation. If you are willing to engage respectfully, I’d be curious to know where in the video you heard me say that celebrating Santa is against Christianity!

I AM opting out of Halloween after trying out this year because its clutter, its a waste of money, creepy and ulimately just unhealthy and cold. And it has nothing to do with faith as I am not religious. BUT I do like the seasonal changes and enjoy the season tastes/colors/foods/smells etc and induge in those instead. But I also admire witchcraft decor (dont believe in witches, like I dont believe in Jesus). So it doesnt have to be a biblical reason at all.

My 3 year old got about 45 presents for his joint birthday/xmas. 5 was noise makers. 1 was 16 dvds. Another was a DVD that didnt work. Some were clothes for the next size up, including one for the size after that.... none of the bottoms will fit for at least 6 months much to my frustration. His entire wardrobe now consists of 100 pieces... more now then as a baby. 3 pairs of trainers in 1 size. Why? 1 was enough. 😅 He got a few duplicate books because people brought them and didnt check with me first and somewhat annoyingly, and greatfully, he outgrew one of his interests toy-wise (thankfully not clothes yet) so I will have to donate them now, not later. His favourite was a motorcontrol car (not mine lol) and a train that he can control on his train track and a huge bus that is noisy and pull backs and Thomas stuff. His vehicles has his whole heart, so I dont mind those. In fact, I could get rid of the rest of the indoor toys, (diff to outdoor toys) and he wouldn't care.

@ERICA85014 күн бұрын
@elenajopp5128 no one ever said pants are forbidden
@messy2mastery14 күн бұрын
@@elenajopp5128 I don’t think the Bible "forbids" wearing pants anywhere. I personally chose to wear dresses and skirts to embrace the femininity and modesty I feel God is calling me to. It’s a personal conviction rather than a commandment, and God leads each of us differently in these areas. It’s important to remember that modesty and obedience to God are matters of the heart, not just the clothes we wear. If someone feels convicted to make changes, that’s wonderful, and it doesn’t mean the same conviction applies to everyone. What’s most important is seeking God’s guidance and following where He leads you personally ❤
@amandaring212814 күн бұрын
I’d suggest doing a little more research into the warm spring color palette, because “white and light colors” is definitely not warm spring. Warm spring is warm, bright colors. White is not in the spring spectrum at all, as it is not warm. We do best in cream or warm whites.

I have the same coloring and I’m also petite so it’s easy to relate to your video! I admire the simplicity of your wardrobe. The challenge for me would be staying warm, I really need a lot more layers. And I wear so many different hats I need clothes for different activities, though I am still trying to streamline. Your video is inspiring and gives me something to move towards. I don’t think I would ever go that minimal, but it’s a good point of reference. I also love a-line skirts and have made a few (not full circle but more like a quarter circle, just enough flare without adding a lot of volume). I still have some pants for winter and yard work, but after a period of figuring out what shoes look good with skirts, I now find skirts more comfortable and becoming than pants.

Coming from someone who wore jeans and tank tops as my uniform in the spring, fall, and winter, I completely understand feeling uneasy about transitioning to dresses. What helped me shift my mindset was thinking about our hot and humid Canadian summers here, where I always opted for dresses instead of shorts. I realized that same comfort and ease could translate to our winters with the right layers and fabrics. Now, I truly love embracing dresses year-round! It can be different for everyone's journey though. If you feel convicted that God wants you to dress with modesty and femininity in your pants, there is absolutely no wrong in that! ❤ There are many great barefoot shoes options! The only barefoot shoes I've checked out so far are Vivobarefoot and Origo, which I love, so they are the only one I can for sure endorse and tell you how awesome they are. Yes! Freedom comes when we stop seeking validation from others and focus on our worth in Christ. It's such a freeing experience to dress in a way that reflects our values and honours God, rather than seeking attention or approval. It's a beautiful reminder that our identity is found in Him, not in the opinions of others ❤

Well done. I pray more and more people realise this about santa. And I pray more and more people wake up to the farce of Christmas altogether. Worshiping Jesus is for every day, not just for stolen pagan ritual days. Jesus is King 👑
