Wow im convicted i could relate to a lot of what you said especially to proving im worthy when i am already approved by God. Our bodies are the temple of God and just knowing that truly makes us show up and act differently. When sister started preaching and saying she is secure in Christ, I got up and shouted AMEN! When we give our lives to Christ, it's IMPOSSIBLE to stay the same! I used to wear crop tops/high waisted jeans with my butt popping out, etc. Even in my beginning walk with Christ I didn't think it was a problem. But the more I started to read the Word and allow it to marinate in my heart, my desires to Godly desires rather than fleshly. My pastor told me once, "you may know the Word, but does the Word know you?"

THIS! Thank you so much for openly sharing your journey with modesty. You explained things so well, those deep changes that only God can do and a heart that only he can give... praise God that He has given you confidence and worth in Jesus and his love for you! What a gift! Thank you, also, for not making this a one-size-fits-all or a judgmental video. The Holy Spirit is the best friend and guide! I had a dear friend growing up that would keep me accountable with where my heart was as I was purchasing clothes. Looking back, that was so precious to me. Also, once my sister-in-law had two boys, I started noticing how other girls and women dressed (especially at the pool) and my heart was broken that those boys would grow up having to navigate seeing girls next-to-naked. I have a bathing suit and then swim shorts and a rash guard that makes me much more comfortable, but still allows me to enjoy the water!

Wow! You completely hit the target on this video. Seems like we have been on the same journey. Why did I feel the need to dress provocatively or with tight-fitting clothes? It was because I had no self-worth and was looking for validation from others instead of from our Lord and Savior. I wanted to show the girls how much better I looked than them, and I wanted to show the guy's how good I looked. Yuck 🤮!!!! Talk about feminism .🙄 God has been nudging me into modesty, but through my daughter, he had truly made me change. One day, she asked me why I wore makeup. I told her that I needed it. She looked at me and asked if she needed it. I told her, of course not, and that she is absolutely beautiful. Then she told me that so was I because we looked like twins. Talk about a reality check. Needless to say, she and God won my heart. ❤

It was something to the effect that I’ve begun attending a new church since the beginning of the year, so for about one year, and I’ve chosen not to show much of my body at church. I wear pretty (but not necessarily “sexy”) dresses... long flowing sundresses in the summer ... in an effort not to call attention to myseif and my figure. I definiteky know how to do that and not necessarily all at one time ... highlight my waist here, show hips there, reveal a bit of cleavage there ... but I don’t. The downside has been, as a single woman who would love to meet/marry a Christian man, I also haven’t gotten the looks and attention from men there that I know I could get if I chose to wear more body-revealing dresses. I also don’t wear “sexy” shoes or heels to church, shoes meant to draw attention to my legs, ankles, toes, etc and how I walk. I know how to attract eyes and male focus on me. That’s not hard. I just don’t and I pray the man for me will see my inner godly beauty without my putting my body on full display and leaving a little something to the imagination. I believe he’ll be pleased to see the outer wrapper once he can. Praying for this.🌸

@messy2mastery2 ай бұрын
Modesty doesn't mean sacrificing elegance. I've learned that modesty, to me, it's about respecting myself and choosing t dress in a way that doesn't draw attention for the wrong reasons. In today's world, there is often a strong focus on outward beauty. I've found that when relationships are based primarily on appearance, they can miss the deeper foundation God intended. A godly man will be drawn to a woman’s heart for God and her character first, and physical attraction becomes natural part of a whole picture, rather than the focus. I hope you keep praying for your future husband - I've found prayer one of the best ways to prepare our hearts while we wait ❤

I have so much respect for you. Ask any of these nearly naked females, and they will tell you that they dress for themselves and not to be seen. A BIG HYPOCRITICAL LIE! If it were true, they would admire themselves in the mirror at home and it would be enough. Two of the saddest things about how these women dress; they are usually walking next to a fully dressed man, and this way of ‘NOT dressing’ always seeps into the church
