This is an AMAZING video. This was one of the largest part of our life’s (My Brother & I) we were number #18 and #19 black belt and this studio made and transformed my life. Thank you sooooo much for the video. Marcelo and Rick Garcia. Also miss Mr.Oki ALOT (Big part of my life) till this day I think about him. We were both part of Sherman oaks Chuck Norris studio and both of the Tarzana studios. WOW I cannot say enough after seeing this video. Best part of my life.

Thank you for posting this video, which takes me back to a time when my life was very magical. Seeing Mr. Rick Oki again was a real tear-jerker, and I saw all those great people I've met on my journey. I checked, and I'm number 18 from the early days in the Tarzana Karate studio. Thank you for your wisdom and inspiration, I will be forever grateful.

Uh oh folks! He comes foward off balance with his head directly on the center line! He better pray he doesnt do that to a boxer! For an example of this danger, watch manny Pacquiao knock out ricky hatton. Hatton came straight forward on the center line and backed up on the center line. Result: dramatic knockout. However, the "karate blitz" worked well when lyoto Machita used it against Jon jones.

Jim Kelly and Bruce Lee really inspired me to do martial arts. If he and Bruce were going to do the movie together, he could have been a household name helping to break barriers. They're my heroes.

Jim Kelly was a great martial artist for young Black kids to look up to in the 70's.

The second location across the street from the original location in Tarzana on Ventura Blvd, was that the Tang Soo Do dojo that was featured at the beginning of the movie No Retreat No Surrender (1985)?

I have his DVDs from Panther and they are horrible performed. His DVDs are over-priced on the website @ about 50 $CAD/45 min/disk (a 4.5 GB single layer DVD can hold 5 hours of very good quality video).

Quite possibly the most beautiful video I’ve ever seen of the form and definitely of the American variation of Tang Soo Do. Great song, great scenery and fantastic execution. Great video and you’re a great ambassador for the art.

Regarding the index finger and WHY? "late Middle English: from Latin index, indic- ‘forefinger, informer, sign’, from in- ‘towards’ + a second element related to dicere ‘say’ or dicare ‘make known’; compare with indicate. The original sense ‘index finger’ (with which one points), came to mean ‘pointer’ (late 16th century), and figuratively something that serves to point to a fact or conclusion; hence a list of topics in a book (‘pointing’ to their location)." Came here because I figured out that shao-lin kempo kata1-5 are ridiculous--because they were only remembering empty hand aspect. They are meant to be weapons/grapping/empty hand rosetta stone. two finger movements within, plus weapons, lead me to you here and now. love that the bo spins from straight lines.... ;)
