Thought this as a really cool difference to this channel. I love all the content. This was just a fresh approach. It also taught me some things to do with a defensive fighter

I appreciate you showing us this, it's not often that we get to see a martial artist of your caliber (or rank) in action. Many high ranking black belts only spar amongst other high ranking black belts behind closed doors. I'm usually the one behind the camera at my school, so no one has taken a video of me sparring yet, but maybe one day I'll set up the tripod so I'll have something for you to critique. I think my main weakness is tunnel vision. As you were sparring, you were obviously aware of what his arms, body, and feet were doing at all times. That's not something I'm very good at.

Of course, I’m only human. I love to share my weaknesses and strengths. I’d love to see you fight, love to help in anyway I can. Tunnel vision is very tough. Having spacial awareness and just to be able to see more than the attack is a challenge, but you can do it. You have to train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose.

Just FYI.. this is our kick takedown is very dangerous. You can actually mess up your opponent's knee pretty bad. Something just to be careful about.

You can see the Chuck Norris influence in those techniques. Your father was obviously a great student of his and an excellent teacher to you.

Hi, I have a question. I am a practitioner of Tang Soo Do. My school is Americanized though but from my understanding the black belt ranking system is the same as the original. Once you obtain your black belt it takes 2 years to get second degree, 3 years 3rd degree, 4 years 4th degree, etc all the way to 10 (these years are all minimums, in my school, it is not required to test again past 3rd degree, you just have to remain actively engaged) which at that point you are considered a grandmaster. The description says this person is a 3rd Dan black belt so they would not be a grandmaster, am I correct?
@SenseiIchi
@SenseiIchi 3 жыл бұрын
That is correct. A grandmaster is a 7th Dan or higher in our school. Master is 4th-6th.

I'm thinking about starting tang Soo do. The school is the American Tang Soo Do Association by the late GM Richard Byrne. Just curious if you're familiar with that group and share any information. Great Content 👍
