Wow. Pretty cool seeing that huge gust of wind swirling the leaves and branches off that tree. I would not have liked being face on to that wind at the peak like a couple of those cars were. Seeing the force of those objects zinging through the air and slamming into things, way too chancey for me. Looks like you were in a great spot for viewing and safety. Got us some good views of the wind force. Always amazing to see how quickly and how much some wind and water can reshape our world and things in it.

Yes, and there were several huge branches that were coming off those trees too, along with sheet metal flying and parts of roofs. I agree about it being a pretty big risk to be driving around in that as some cars were doing, that is definitely not for me, the shelter that we had was not ideal, but it was pretty much the best that we could get in that town. Dave and I scouted out several towns/shelters the day before, and that shelter we were in was one of them. We're very glad we did that as we had to leave our hotel in Gainesville very early but we knew exactly where we were going to be heading to. We didn't want to have to scout any locations at the last minute so we're glad we did it the day before. Definitely and intense storm that unfortunately did a good amount of damage in that town and the surrounding areas.
