Should have tapped into load side of gfci to protect timer from ground short. For those wondering why you would want to hard wire instead of using pigtail, transients often use outdoor plugs without permission and don't usually plug your pigtail back in when they are done. Nothing as annoying as finding this out when your plants are dying in the middle of summer...

My Orbit 57896 timer was working great, then suddenly this morning the auto program started extra zones that aren't included in the program. We have six sprinkler zones, we only turn on 2 and 4 with the program, one at a time, 15 minutes each, but this morning zone 5 came on with zone 2. I moved the program on time so it would start again on auto, and the same thing happened, zone 5 comes on with zone 2. When I run the program manually, not using the auto function, zone 2 only comes on like the program says. Very bizzare. Maybe I need to use that factory reset and start over?

I have mine set to water for the “1st time” only, all other times are set to off. Yet I find my sprinklers running at 4 am and again at 8 am. I’ve tried everything I can to do a hard reset on my rain bird, but it always remembers my settings. Anyone know how to reset to manufacturer settings?!

Those would freeze in my area unless there is a fitting to blow them out.

Each program “A,B,C” includes the stations. Push the “right arrow” to cycle through the stations and adjust watering times.

interesting. ive never seen someone use nipples instead of male adapters and pvc directly into valve. PVC would be the more sturdy way

Thank you for your tips. We developed what we thought was a broken line after we had some tree trimming on an old oak tree. The branches were very heavy that hit the ground. Of course the company denied it was their fault. I showed them my zones were not delivering the usual pressure I had seem before. Still denied it. So I started do my own investigation before calling a sprinkler company.. After digging 3 zones to see if any heads we damaged I took a break. We lived in Florida so it was 92 outside. And I am 71. So sitting down and enjoying a cold Bud Light I surfed the net and came across this video.I closed of all the zone heads and pressurized the line. In 10 mins I located the leak, as water was coming up through the lawn. Thank God I watched that video. It saved us probably thousands of dollars. Trying to close the sprinkler head by screwing down didn't work too well. I dug up the heads and removed it and capped them off. Hope that helps everyone. " Google It ", lol

Where is the reset button?

How did you program the second time? I only saw am watering. What about pm watering?

For all who have been struggling with the extra times per station, specifically to REMOVE the extra start times… Here’s how you do it… starting with the second time, push the start time button, then drop the time shown to 12:00 AM… that’s the OFF position. Then do that for each of the extras start times for each station programmed for the extra times. This is a very cool timer, but it’s tricky, and like all timers that have limitations… but…I struggled with getting the extra times off a couple of stations that were a new lawn.. Good luck!
