Should have tapped into load side of gfci to protect timer from ground short. For those wondering why you would want to hard wire instead of using pigtail, transients often use outdoor plugs without permission and don't usually plug your pigtail back in when they are done. Nothing as annoying as finding this out when your plants are dying in the middle of summer...

Thanks for the video. For the low-voltage wire conduit coming in on bottom right hole in the timer box, did you do anything special (grommet or whatever) to seal the conduit to the box to keep water and bugs out? Mine currently just has pvc pipe conduit ending close to box, but not even touching the box, and just seems kind of cheesy to leave it that way.

You didn't show or explain what wires connect to the other wires or power source. Be more descriptive.

Ridiculous. Why not buy a 4foot pig tail plug it into out let 5min job.
