Once, I did a Mutant Chronicles conversion to Savage Worlds in about 4-5 hours and the game play felt like Marvel's Infinity War! Savage Worlds really is the best system I've ever used. I know there's already a Mutant Chronicles setting for Savage Worlds, but my conversion felt more tailored to my vision of the setting. My players loved it even though they had never played an RPG before.

Man you spoke for almost 15 minutes and did not give me a single reason to actually play this game. Basically, it sounds like the core mechanics are incredibly generic/rudimentary, and in order to actually do *anything* I would have to buy a shitload of supplements? So I pay more than I usually would for an RPG, and then end up having to do more work than I usually would before I get to play anything.

No epic level artificer? Interesting choice (unless it hadn’t been released yet this is an old video). My usual step if the group gets to 20 (but the game hasn’t ended yet for reasons) is to make them multiclass, extra attack stacks and spell casters get a new spell list starting at 1 (ending with them usually getting 8 lv 1 slots or some times even 6 2nd level slots but I haven’t seen multiple 3rd level slots). It usually doesn’t cause problems though since the highest it’s gotten is 27, and I only need to deal with that during a boss fight. But my leveling is weird so I imagine no one else has that problem.

Sigh.... Wish I could play more TTRPG without queueing too much. :v

Just used SW once while playing RIFTS, it was Meh. I specially disliked the messy soup of the RIFTS setting, and then the system was just weird, but not exciting weird, just different for the sake of it.

do you have any examples of how you can add on to the system and really "customize" it? What about savage worlds makes it easier to customize? How would you compare savage worlds to other RPG systems that try to do the same thing? Loved the video btw.

is the way hmm. All my friends from school, not many to begin with, have all moved on and we hardly talked and see each other. Also they were never into stuff like this so i never had the chance to play. I want to play this but seems kind of overwhelming.

If you are looking for a truely terrifing experance i would recomend little fears especally happy birthday little fears.

Hmm, looks weird, why in SW fighting is agility based skill. Is even a club counts as finesse weapon? In DnD you use STR for that, seems logical as you need strength to wave a weapon.🤔

There is one exception to the clearly written rule statement: carrying capacity. The book does not outline that your worn equipment counts as 0 towards carried weight and has a 2nd carrying limit for max item weight worn.

Am I the only one who rankles a bit at every Sci-Fi DnD Conversion insisting on magic & technology being interchangeable? Don't get me wrong, I *adore* MagiTech as a concept; but insisting on *only* MagiTech instead of keeping it at a Venn Diagram overlap specifically for psionically/arcane imbued machines, or alien tech so advanced it's Clarke's Third Law-ing it; feels like it waters down the unique characteristics of both. Idk. I know that Magic/Spells are so intrinsic to DnD mechanically that it'd be a massive hurdle to build Tech as a whole other subsystem; but still.

tldr: First time playing, bad at talking (especially on the spot). Does this limit my choice of character because I have to act as them? (grunting feral Orc vs articulate Gnome witch) I've been approached by a friend of mine to play Pathfinder 1e in a group with him as DM (this is both our first time playing a tabletop) and what gives me the most trouble besides learning all the information is the decision on which character to make. It's not like I don't have ideas but I feel like I can only play the characters I'd be decent acting as. I'm not very good at expressing myself in spontaneous ways (at least not without resorting to my already limited vocabulary and speaking skills) and that feels lke a prerequisite to have, since pretty much all the game is interacting with other people and in character. There's also the fact that I have pretty bad social anxiety (if I didn't know any of the people I'm playing with I wouldn't even agree to playing) compared to most people and acting in front of them without preparing my sentences beforehand is the worst case of being put on the spot for me. I'm prone to overthinking and since this is all our first time playing maybe we don't need to act in character yet but It takes me a long time warming up. I'm confident I can play a convincing feral orc but I'd also like to play a female gnome witch with a bit of an attitude and smarts (grunting vs eloquent) Maybe you can ease my worries a bit (or anyone reading for that matter).
