I'm really grateful this is on youtube. Open All Hours was a really classic bit of British comedy and I doubt there is any sitcom these days that can really compare. I am shaking my head at Granville with his open shirt and his cocoa tin lid made up to look like a dangler. 🤭🤭🤭 These two together made comedy gold.

Years ago I remember my father (RIP) telling me about how Ronnie Barker had retired and opened an antique shop and my father had sold him his first clock as my father was big into Antiques especially old clocks, I was young, this would have been late 80s and believed everything my father told me as no reason not too, he was always telling stories but as I became a teen I started to doubt it as there were just too many stories to believe in the end, well funny thing was we used to go to our local car boot sale when we had time and a chance too, well my father yet again told me Lynda Baron (Nurse Gladice) was usually there looking for things for Ronnie Barkers little shop, yet again I though yea yea here we go again, only to be at said car boot sale and seeing a lady put her arm on my fathers shoulder and say hello you old bugger how are you or similar, with shock and not knowing what to say or think, it was actually Lynda Baron chatting to my father like old mates!

Ronnie is trying to get Tony Aitken to check his eyes. 🤣 He had little appearances everywhere like Jackanory, Keeping Up Appearances, Blackadder ii, etc

You wouldn't get subtle comedy like this from the U S , they wouldn't understand , cos Americans aren't very bright

I don't want you crazy about me out of sympathy. Just 'cause I'm blind. 😆 I loved this episode. I can't tell you how many times I watched these episodes. I could never get enough of Arkwright and Granville.

David Jason was born in 1946 which puts him 41 here and he looks it. It is not believable he is playing eight or nine years younger.
