This. Rising Damp. Love Thy Neighbour. On The Buses. Fawlty Towers. Only Fools And Horses. A period when British comedy was absoultely fantastic; superb writing and excellent acting that still stands the test of time.

In the original books Jimmy's wife was an alcoholic and spent the house keeping on drink hence his cock up on the catering front speech was to cover this up don't know if in later books he left his wife
