The operator is a great pistol from Springfield armory. I have a non-railed TRP and I would not trade the operator for the TRP. They’re both nice pistols.

Regie. Always appreciate watching your videos. I just picked up my TRP Operator and was able to break it in this past weekend. What a fun pistol! I'm having the same issues acquiring sights. I chalked it up to old age but I can see where you are coming from. I'm thinking about researching gold or diamond front sights.

Of the 1911's I have had my hands on, Springfield's is one of my favorites. Super smooth. Kimber is a close second.
@swoldiertactical234318 күн бұрын
I’ve never fired a Kimber. I had been debating a Springfield for a long time. I was originally looking at the Prodigy but it was too similar to other 2011s that I already have. The Operator was a departure in a few ways so it sorta made sense. There are a lot of sales going on so…😂😂

I had the same thought about geography. Based upon what I was able to see, people that live in rural areas, towns and in the south, for example, are more likely to have firearms versus those in the cities but the data didn’t look at political affiliation set against geography in granular detail.

They use the same sights on my new T.R.P. I blacked out the rears and put a green fiber optic up front. I hope yours runs better than mine did. I had to send mine to nighthawk to be pretty much tuned and rebuilt. Beautiful pistol by the way.

Probably about the nicest selection for the price range of the model type. Once you get used to it, it's hard to go back to other frames. Amazing trigger pull, smooth recoil impulse, quick to acquire target when you find your grip/familiarity.

Ok good your frist TRUE 1911 in 45 now what the 1911 gang does is upgrade your magazine to Willson combat 8rd and 10rd or ED brown 8rd magazine or Chip McCormick 8 round 10 round

I was looking at the Wilson Combat mags just last night. Someone else recommended them. They look nearly identical to what I have now but I would imagine that the quality is higher.

See this is what the U.S. MARINES need and probably would have kept there 1911s vs that junk colt M45a1 that had problems with cracking frames chipping paint etc. and then when the US Marines went to sue them colt the file for bankruptcy

I know I am late to this video party but I just received my MP5 clone, a MAC 5, a week ago. Now I installed a handguard setup with MLOK it is a Leapers UTG Pro M-Lok Handguard MP5. I had some problems in that the MLOK light/laser did fit the MLOK spacing so I had to use a weaver rail and mount it that way. Otherwise it is great. You get a weaver rail for lights. There is a slot cut on the top so I can see the SN. The cut for the charging handle is rounded so you do cut you hand with the "slap". It does change the lines of the MP5 but gives it a more modern look.
@swoldiertactical234327 күн бұрын
I’ve debated changing out my hand guard. Love the classic look but a modern upgrade would be nice.
@mikethompson265027 күн бұрын
@@swoldiertactical2343 I debated the classic look myself. Now my MAC 5 has a non classic foregrip and thought of changing to the one you use. But wanted a taclight and a 45 degree angle grip.

In my experience those type of rubber grips held moisture to the frame and caused rusting on some frames. Something to be aware of. Damn fine gun sir.
@swoldiertactical2343Ай бұрын
Ah, that’s good to know. I heard that the grips were popular in the 80s but have since fallen from favor. Maybe due to the issue that you raised. Wonder if that’s why SA used Cerakote. 🤷🏾♂️ Thanks for the heads up. Appreciate you.

I have the same pistol that I purchased a few years ago. Wish I bought the newer one with the integral front strap checkering but this 1st gen has been flawless. For me, all my 1911's run either Wilson mags or Tripp Research Cobra mags without question.

Very nice! Is this the first non 9 in the collection? I feel like we had a conversation at one point that you were mainly sticking with on caliber. That said, it feels like you almost HAVE to have a 1911 in 45 at some point! Grips look to be Pachmayr branded. Great grip manufacturer for sure. Beautiful firearm. Really like that color scheme!

Thank you for the posts on the TWC Black! I appreciated the honest pros and cons. I’m used to STI’s with polymer hand grips. I went to my local store to pick up my Staccato C2 and they had one to demo. Man, the action was smoother than the C2. I wound up buying it. I have never owned a double stack 1911. It looks even better in person than on the videos.

Yeah…I’d rather stick with Glocks for 9s If I get a 1911 and I’m spending money…if you’re going 2500 anyways…I’d pay up to get a nighthawk custom or a Wilson combat. Just my personal opinion. I’ve been shooting since I was 5. Been a gun enthusiast since. Have friends that own high end gun shops. Held and shot them all.

@@tough_book i agree. Usually i dont even spend over a g on a pistol. If i spend over that id rather get a rifle
@tough_book27 күн бұрын
@@FirstLast-ff7qx money really isn’t the issue for me. I’m saying if I’m spending up on a 1911…it’s gotta be from nighthawk, Wilson combat, Ed brown. They’re all tops to me. Plus if I’m getting a 1911…it’s gotta be .45 🤣. For a 9…I’ll just stick with glocks…or even HK, sig and couple other manufactured guns. I appreciate Quality though…I own plenty of higher end guns. Plenty of very good pistols for under a K. Glocks always go bang and can beat them to hell and back.
