I feel your pain! I spent yesterday afternoon trying to get broken tree debris that is lodged in a huge sweet gum in my back yard down. I got one small limb down, it's all just wedged in the middle of the tree and not budging. Courtesy of Hurricane Milton. Deb just got me a new rope saw she thinks will work, I'm thinking I'll probably kill myself using it!! LOL! Sorry you had damage, hope you guys get it fixed up! Always something!!! So your tree got drunk and fell down? Some folks just get out of control on New Years. Like my brother on Thanksgiving. Hope the tree didn't barf all over. 🤮 Or is that bark? Well, back is easier cleanup than barf. And you can dispose of it in the fireplace. 😎 Anyway... The motor plate is something I'm using on my altered builds. Lightening holes is the next step for that plate. Did you talk about how thick of styrene sheet? In full scale, the plate would be 1/4" thick. To be scale accurate, it should be .010 sheet. But that is real flimsy. Better to use at least .020 (1/2" scale) or even better, .030 (3/4" scale). The Double Dragster Fiat 392 Hemi has front and back motor plates that are .040 thick (1" scale). That is kinda carried away too thick, but I'm using them that way. The rear motor plate goes between the scattershield bell housing and the block. That would be made the same way as the front motor plate. Front and back motor plates is real common race car construction where a small trans is used, like an in & out box, and in race cars like dragsters, altereds, funny cars, sprint cars, etc. Scattershields are used for most of those that have an onboard starter and a clutch. Push start/clutchless cars like sprint cars do not have a bell housing. But push start drag cars still need a clutch for start line launch. So they still need a bell housing. Like that AMT Fiat altered.
