That's a shame. It looked a bit of a crappy fixing. It will interesting to see how others are like fixing. Our Bongo has some fitted. May be original and I find them a real pain in the winter when they ice up and too fragile to use I e scraper. They are much bigger than yours and can obstruct vision on traffic lights. On the good side at night we can open windows a bit and it stops rain coming in when sleeping. George

Hi George, you're right definitely a poor design. The ones I'm replacing are of the usual fit, they sit in the glass channel and are secured by the small metal spring clips. The design of the new ones was to drill a hole and use the tiny screw, it was like something you would use on a circuit board and definitely shouldn't be used to secure something that could come loose on a motorway when the window is down. Anyway they have been sent back for a refund

HI, I had a look at the Heko ones. Do they also have the little clips that you push up into the glass channel? It is between the Heko and the Auto Clover ones. These have really good reviews, I asked the question on Durham Dubs and a couple came back and confirmed how good they are. I will sort something out by the end of the week and do an updated video

We loved camper jam but stopped going a few years ago cos it’s got way to commercial and it’s lost the essence of a vw show . People walking round openly smoking cannabis and making sure people can’t sleep . Dubs at the castle is our favourite show . A lot smaller show but still has the vw vibe

Hi, Thanks for your comments. We were out of our comfort zone and naively didn't realise how big it would be. There were plenty of VWs there but many other makes also. The vehicle show was very disappointing for me, I was expecting loads of vehicles to look around but in essence, there were only around 12. I think for us, we tick the box....been there, done that, don't need to do it again. But still needed to experience it

Hi George, We have a volt reader built into the switches that just showed the volts going down as we carried on with the trip, so knew it wasn't charging as it should. I used a cheap volt meter today to track down the fault. It's the first time I've had to use one but I could clearly see where the current stopped so managed to get sorted. I still have a new battery being delivered so going to have the two of them on the go moving forward. Thanks for the offer of a demo video, definitely worth doing if you have the time, I'm hopefully sorted, but I'm sure it will help many others and be a good reference for me in the future 😜

It seems to be the norm now, about parking for campers and motorhomes. I have mobility issues (thanks to fibro) and the amount of places we've been in the motorhome that have parking restrictions does my F##]!n? head in. Shame on all these seaside town council's, (and there's many I could name). They've obviously got no understanding regarding this matter. A very loud BOO 👎 Thanks for posting the video, I won't be visiting due to this parking 💩

Hi, thanks for your comment. It is a shame that councils tend not to accommodate campers and motorhomes. They are all missing out on additional business and additional funds, I am sure there is a high percentage of camper and motorhome owners who would happily pay for parking and access. I'm sorry to hear you have Fibromyalgia, Allison has this condition and it really does make daily living difficult. Hopefully, like us, you take advantage of getting out in the camper and enjoy as much as you can while you can. Wishing you well ❤

@HimHerandtheDogs
@HimHerandtheDogs 29 күн бұрын
Hi Paul, thanks for your comments although not very detailed in your comment. There may be enough Blue Badge parking around Northumberland but this wasn't the issue. The height barriers are the issue. They have been installed and actually fail to resolve any issues raised by local residents concerning rubbish, human waste etc. As I mentioned in another comment, I completely agree with the double yellow lines and any genuine restrictions that deter poor, thoughtless, disrespectful and dangerous parking. Thanks again
@BigKat62
@BigKat62 29 күн бұрын
All the restrictions set up along the Wynding in Bamburgh are not the doing of Northumberland Country Council. The restrictions are imposed by Bamburgh Castle Estates, these were put in place to deter visitors that regularly leave a mess!
@HimHerandtheDogs
@HimHerandtheDogs 29 күн бұрын
Hi, Thank you for your comments. Northumberland County Council and The Bamburgh Parish imposed the double yellow lines along the Winding so If I'm wrong about who imposed the height restrictions then I apologise. I completely agree with the double yellow lines as they prevent thoughtless parking from Cars, vans, campers and motorhomes. Thoughtless parking is unacceptable and dangerous. However, the height restrictions in the two car parks along the Winding are wrongly directed and discriminate against a larger vehicle. The mess that may have been identified in the past such as rubbish and human waste is more likely from cars full of adults, younger drivers or those with young families. How many times have you driven along a road and seen a car throw the rubbish out of the window, or passed someone holding the child off the ground while they do their business. Most campervans and Motorhomes are self-contained with a toilet/portaloo etc and will take their rubbish with them when they leave. I understand some camper owners may be less respectful than others and that's a shame as it tarnishes the rest of us. The issue with the height barrier is that it does not stop cars full of adults and kids wanting the loo and does not stop smaller campervans from parking up. So this is 100% discriminating against larger vehicles and not actually solving any of the issues that have been mentioned. I believe more thought should have gone into introducing the barriers before wasting money. Introduce pay-to-park, pay for overnight parking and police the car parks. Thanks again
@BigKat62
@BigKat62 29 күн бұрын
@HimHerandtheDogs as a local to the Bamburgh area it annoys me no end the restrictions on parking along the Winding, but I've witnessed first hand what some visitors get upto, in both car and camper. We regularly used to head there for an evenings chill out and a meal in the van, but the restrictions have put an end to that, we now go elsewhere! I've spoken with Bamburgh Castle Estates with view of them lifting some of the barriers and blockages, all I can say is, don't hold your breath on anything happening anytime soon.

Wow, you have been on quite a journey! I am on 400 mg Imatinib. I certainly get a lot of side effects from it also. I think the worst thing for me is the extreme fatigue, breathlessness, and I also get the muscle cramps. They’re like a Charlie horse and extremely painful. I get them in my feet and my feet will become contorted also. Have you tried coconut water or Gatorade to replenish your electrolytes? Also, magnesium is great for your muscles and cramping. I find that this chemo pill sucks the calcium out of you. So, I take a spoonful of liquid calcium daily. I don’t overdo it because too much calcium can give you kidney stones, which is very painful, but the calcium will help your bones and your teeth. A lot of people, including myself, have found our beautiful teeth chipping for no reason… It’s the medication. I was being tested for multiple sclerosis and I had a lot of cat scans which give off ionizing radiation and I question whether the CAT scans gave me CML. I have had two MS specialists think fat it’s possibly fibromyalgia and the second doctor thinks it might be something else… Meanwhile, my CAT scans and my MRIs all come back saying that it’s multiple sclerosis and it is progressing. However, the MS has taken a back burner to the CML… I do need to get a hold of my doctor again about this. Thank you so much for doing this video and for sharing your story. God bless ~ PS. Definitely take magnesium and talk to your doctor about taking vitamin D and vitamin B 12 for your brain and your Myelin sheaths.
@HimHerandtheDogs
@HimHerandtheDogs Ай бұрын
Hi, thank you for your comments. Whilst I was on Imatinib I had all sorts of issues but the cramps were the worst. When you talk to people about the cramps they all think it must be like a cramp you have during sport etc but it is exhausting trying to explain the severity and how debilitating it is, no one understands unless you're on Imatinib and going through it. It got to the point when I said to my Oncologist "I would rather have the cancer than the cramps" he immediately switched me to Nilotinib. The switch was amazing, my cramps almost stopped completely, if I do get cramps it's easy to stretch out and lasts seconds instead of hours and there are no lasting muscle aches. Whilst on Imatinib I tried everything suggested to help including Magnesium Tablets, Tonic water, bananas and a whole host of other things but the only relief I got was when I switched to Nilotonib. Ironically my medical report now says under (Allergies) Adverse effects to Imatinib. It's difficult to get a straight answer about MS and the diagnosis, it probably took around 3-4 years for me to be diagnosed with PPMS since then my progression has mainly been down my right side. I have foot drop, weakness in my leg and arm, no grip strength and a definite loss of movement and mobility in my right side. Allison and her two sisters all have Fibromyalgia so there is definitely a genetic link although the GPs seem to think otherwise. She was recently diagnosed with FND which ironically shows systems very similar to MS so it may be worth looking into this. I'm glad you found the video helpful, I am planning on doing more of the health videos at a later date so watch out for them 😁Thanks again for your input and comments.
