I wish Honda bought out an SP version of the CBR650R as it is quite budget when compared with the 600RR. It would also be appreciated if Honda made the 650 series practical for accessories like side panniers and a top box. As it stands they are not at all practical as an all round city bike. If you look at the Dukes you find two bolts for a street rack to hold panniers and top box. Everything from the 390 Duke up to the 1390 have these bolts for accessories. The other REALLY ODD thing about this class of bike from Honda is the lack of pickups for a regular Paddock Stand. WTF Honda?
@FrontWheelUp13 күн бұрын
That's something I hadn't considered. I'm sure I remember seeing you can get Honda official panniers though I'm not sure about a top box. I could be mistaken though!

I have a bog stock '2000. In town I'd l rather be on my Gixxer every single time. But the RSV isn't as gross for an old superbike around town as I imagined. You just have to pay attention to your body position and throttle control. When you get away from traffic though it's great - whether wafting through town or on a B-road, loads of character, fantastic motor, fantastic chassis. Once you get a move on it goes from being a heavy old tractor to a surprisingly nimble thoroughbred, so much fun. Climb over the front, drop the elbow and it hooks up. On a Jap i4 you'd just sit wherever, roll on & wait for it to start screaming. Whereas the big twin RSV is fun everywhere, even at road legal speeds because it grunts from near tick-over. Fun but not comfortable. Low RPM, first gear, on wet or greasy roads really sucks - feels like it's waiting to catch you out, the Gen1 EFI fueling is snatchy and it's got boat-loads of grunt with no aids. Neutral throttle is really hard to find below 4'500rpm. But who cares when it's this much fun when the lights turn green. It's a fun bike to launch.

I recently bought one of these and it’s an amazing bike. My only comment is… I think Honda could have done more with the TFT. eg auto display showing heated grip percentage, tank percentage and range, not either/or. Also, why not have reverse/normal/reverse graphics when the indicator is on? So simple to implement and TFT gives so much potential. But, it’s a fantastic ride. A truly great bike.

Have an Akrapovic titanium exhaust and a Power Commander V which sounds amazing. Handles like a dream and I can still hang with the newer bikes on the track and on the twisties. Timeless look and still top notch performance.

I got my Learner Permit 2 here in my state of Victoria, Australia, 2 weeks ago and my first bike is this exact model and colour 2024 CBR500R. I have nothing to compare it to as it's my first bike but I absolutely love it! It's a pleasure to ride. It's been a steep learning curve, getting out on the road and into traffic etc. I love the look of the bike, I love the way it rides, and I'm really enjoying my new bike. Thanks for your review! Craig - Australia
@FrontWheelUp13 күн бұрын
As far as a first bike to go I don't think you can get any better. It'll teach you everything you need in anticipation of moving onto a bigger bike when your ready. It's a really forgiving bike but still quick enough to have a lot of fun with. Enjoy the journey Craig! :-)

Full licence, but first bike after a 125... CBR500r vs the CBR650r; not intending to track it, just a weekend toy. Will I get bored of the 500 soon? Is the 650 just going to be limited by speed limits vs needing to rev the i4 engine?

I have a '07 600RR, have loved every minute of it since I bought it. No electronics on it, so it is pretty basic which I quite like, but saying that I've not had the opportunity to try one. Sounds like a trip to Fowlers Bristol for a test ride! The price of this bike is very competitive, for the spec.and the 119 bhp is outstanding, good value for money. Quickshifter is one of the Items which I feel would be beneficial. Great to see the 600RR back and all the better for it. Great review.

I currently have a 2005 600rr and always daydream about getting a new one. Unfortunately here in Australia the new cbr600rr is $28,000. At that price, I can get a new zx6r and still have $10k left over. Even a Ducati v2 is still just cheaper. Also, the new fireblade is $53,000 AUD which is mind blowing.
@infermus112 ай бұрын
Impossible... Here in Poland 600RR cost about 13,2k USD but ZX-6R cost 15,5k USD. Ducati V2 is even worse, because cost over 24k USD. I am going to get my 600RR in January... Hope you gonna get new bike anyway bro!

I bought an 08 in 2009 after owning a CBR250RR from 1991. Loved the 08 and only sold it because I travelled overseas and had no place to keep it. On reflection I should have rented a small storage unit and kept it in there until my return 14 months later. I bought a 2013 CB500X in 2016 and recently traded it in on a KTM 2023 890 Duke R which is incredible like the 600RR. A very track focused naked. Thinking of adding a 600RR and riding both at the track. Test rode a 1290 Super Duke R today and confirmed the 890 as a superior handling bike but the 1290 SDR engine is incredible. Definitely asking for a tune to take it to the next level.
