I cannot find any information on how big the return air needs to be (it looks like in your example it is as big as the output). Also how much clearance s required at the back (it looks about as deep as the unit is tall). I have a Dakin unit I need to enclose. Can you provide any guidance please?

So many different size units, but we made just one filter that is big enough to cover all units. The back of the unit is flat so it doesn’t really matter, out filter is 500 x 200 . We join 2 filters with cloth taps so it acts look Le a hinge so it’s easy to get it out. We use small magnets to hold the filter in place, it just sticks to the back of the unit.

How do you clean the coils on those?
@FullyAirconditioned Жыл бұрын
Would need to remove the indoor unit, with this set up the indoor unit is built into a box, it can be pumped down, disconnected from the power and refrigerant pipes. Then unbolt the unit and slide it out the grill opening. Not a simple exercise but installed like this so it can be done.

@@FullyAirconditioned That's never going to get done. I've been quite sick from mouldy coils before. I wouldn't be surprised if the filter never gets changed either. Out of sight out of mind.

@@David-de7pv if you can’t get to it or think it will never be pulled out and cleaned, a regular spray with diluted tea tree oil should kill any mould or keep it at bay. Keep filters clean and run the unit on fan only after cooling to dry the coil out. Turn off the system when cooking, all this will help stop mould in the first place.

bit hard to see what you’re doing to stick it back on, would be interested in knowing what kind of clips the original has, just in case it’s been changed recently and it can be reused

The filters we have had made have magnets on the to hold them in place, they stick to the metal body of the indoor unit. The factory filters have plastic clips moulded into the filter frame, you need to be able to reach all 4/6 clips to install them, so an access panel at the rear of the system is required. There is option for an auto air cleaning module from daikin as a accessary. It cleans the filter and collects the dust in a duct box, this dust is cleaned out using your vacuum cleaner via the vacuum port mounted in the ceiling near the indoor unit. Part No BAE20A62

Would the Hitachi one be similar to this daikin system?
@FullyAirconditioned Жыл бұрын
I would say it would be very similar if it’s this style, how it’s installed maybe different

Hi, I have a tight access space so I am trying to find these air filters with the magnets instead of clips. I have called Daikin but no joy. Can i ask where did you get them from? I am looking at the CDXM or CDXP range. Thanks
@FullyAirconditioned3 жыл бұрын
We made them as it was a better and easy option for accessing them, split the filter into two so it could be taken out around Cornes and tight spaces Used cloth tape to join them so it’s like a hinge. We then super glued rare earth magnets to the frame. Easy, I could send you a set of filters for $40.00 plus freight, total length is 1000mm x 200mm

@@FullyAirconditioned That would be great, thanks! I might get them for all different units as I am having multiple units across the house. Once I have confirmed the specs of each unit, I will be in touch. Cheers!

Would have been sooo much easier if the filter was integrated in a more clever grill assembly design… just saying 😀😉
@FullyAirconditioned2 жыл бұрын
A filter built in to the grill would not work as this grill is the supply and return air, so sucking and blowing air from the one grill. Cost was a factor on this project as well, the builder not wanting a man hole for cleaning the filter and having a fully sealed unit so it’s not sucking air from the roof space like most installations. There was one option, it’s an auto filter clean kit that has a vacuum port on the wall and a roll filer, the dust collects in a dust box and you vacuumed it out. Again cost is the factor. But thanks for the suggestion. 👍🏻

How are you supposed clean that yourself, what a stupid design
@FullyAirconditioned3 жыл бұрын
Design that the key, the designer didn’t want a wall mounted split system so built in bulkhead unit was selected. You can clean it your self, that why we have done this video.

agreed @sonny - silly design for fashion over function. see this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYG7mIWwpdRom6c
