Currently doing this to get my Shiny Charmander. This method helps save a bit more time than having to do the battle every time. Hopefully this helps others to get theirs!

Question; if I were to nickname the Kanto starter once I get it from Prof. Sycamore rather than naming it from the Name Rater, would that affect the chances of getting a shiny at all?

Nope it would do nothing. There is nothing that will increase this shiny hunt because it’s a “gift Pokemon” so 1/4096 is what you working with 👍

The fact that I’m very very confused watching the video and hearing the explanation on how to do it is again confusing, can anyone summarize it for me? I’m legit confused because of how fast the video is BUT I get what he is saying but really really fast lol

@@YIPPEE_JW it’s like an 8 minute talking about 1 thing. Wouldn’t consider that quick 😅 Basically this is what you do 1. Have 6 Pokemon on your team 2. Battle the professor and win 3. Pick the starter Pokemon you want (when the pick the starter you are LOCKED into this Pokemon if you do the method I’m showing in the video) 4. DO NOT ACCEPT THE STARTER POKEMON. Press the B button to decline the starter. You do this to pick it up later 5. Finish the story cutscenes and then go back to the professor 6. Save right in front the professor 7. Talk to him to pick up your starter Pokémon 8. Check the summary to see if it is Shiny or not 9. If it is NOT shiny press the L+R+Start buttons at the same time to “soft reset” to try again 10. Keep doing that process until you get the shiny ✨ Everything I explained in this comment is in the video. I just speed up some of the footage because it would make the video longer 😅 Good luck ✨
