best to just use the creek water to wash the dirt down the sluice and just keep loading it up all day, no need to worry putting in the water.

Hey Jim how ya been mate, Steve here it's been a while. I don't think there will be any content mate the whole time we did KZbin I was on borrowed time with 9 prolapsed disc's and 2 failed surgeries it just got so bad to be out doing our thing I think this vid was 3 weeks before I able to even go outside again we never really let on how bad I was as we were trying to be as normal as posable on camera and not let on that I was a cripple. Massive strong doses of painkillers were needed for a day at the creek the catch with that was I could not feel the damage that I was doing to myself and a week or 2 recovery time was happening it just got to much. Alicia is doing great she got a new job at a pub here in town and has been busy working hard and looking after us. Thanks for the massage Jim Good luck and Happy hunting mate. Steve.

five years later is there any progress.... You really need to be able to process 100 kilograms of material per hour to be serious, I like that it floats that's really a great idea but I've got a few ideas ... I've got to get into difficult country walking so I can't really carry a floating system too bulky for Wilderness tracking

Needs a grizzly added to separate and remove the large aggregate. What’s the amount lost and recovered in the tailings pan. Have you tested constant velocity water flow against the pulse flow from the pump to establish the difference.

Gday Alicia and Steve Love the Xterra 705 action. May ask what coil you’re running on the Xterra. I’m currently running the standard coil on mine, I have been contemplating buying an Equinox 900 but the Xterra has been doing the job, I have opportunity to buy a 15inch 18.75khz coil and I think it might postpone buying a new detector Thanks Brendan
@GrotyGold6 ай бұрын
G'Day mate the X-Terra is a great bit of kit the coil i use on mine is a 15" 3khz we also have a coiltek 15" 18.75khz the only bad part is they are heavy and can destroy your arm fast it took a while to be able to swing them for a day most of the hunts here on youtube were 5-10 hour days. good luck out there.

@@GrotyGold … true don’t know if the rota pan is still available these days , I own one I bought years ago and was very expensive , I still haven’t found enough gold to pay it off yet lol , I think the ones with plastic bucks are called bucket sluice , hand made , very basic but couldn’t do as much materials that the rota pan does I don’t think , that’s about it and a load of dollars cheaper 👍

I'm not sure if I missed it, but I have a Rotapan, and the instructions say after doing the jiggy jiggy back and forth, your supposed to give it a complete 360° spin so that the sweeper bars underneath can get rid of the excess materials in the catch pan. I love my Rotapan, it's my go to piece of kit when I'm out panning and prospecting. It may have been a bit pricey, but it made all my money back the first weekend I took it into the field. I'm a pretty darn good & fast panner, but the Rotapan is even faster. Cheers. 👋🇨🇦

Like with any equipment bud you have to be where the gold is or it doesn’t matter what you got it won’t help one bit.
@andyfunke94848 ай бұрын
@@fishmut, well being where the gold is, I would think that would be kind of obvious, especially if I was able to pay for my Rotapan in a weekend. I've been panning for gold since I was five years old, well before the advent of the plastic gold pan, and I've own my claims since 1980, when gold was sub 500 dollars. My metal detector on the other hand still owes me money.

@@andyfunke9484 This is the first time I've seen this "Rotapan", without doing any research yet, might you have a good idea how the sweeper bars deal with super fine gold or flour gold as some say?
@andyfunke94847 ай бұрын
@@01mustang05, I've panned the tailings from the Rotapan many times. I've never found more than one or two fly specks in the tailings. It has a very good capture rate.

Enjoyed? Thoroughly is mr answer.I could pick the finds before you dug when you used the terra but only use my nox once so new numbers to remember.I checked the 15 inch coil today for the nox ..the elliptical and sells for almost $400 oh boy
@GrotyGold11 ай бұрын
The Nox 15 covers a lot of ground and the target separation is still good it is my go to for modern $1 and $2 gold coin hunting with only digging 20 21 22 with the sensitivity at around 10 it has found well over 2000 bucks over the years and i dont do that very often it can clean out a large area quickly and with each swing you can take a normal step it has to be a junk loaded spot for me to put a smaller coil on.
@royallan371711 ай бұрын
Hey guys,I need a big coil after watching you, my terra has a broken coil that came with it so do you favour the terra or nox? I still like my 705. Thanks for another cool video and also for previous replies.
@GrotyGold11 ай бұрын
The X-Terra is a fantastic detector the 3khz 15" coil is awesome but it is very heavy compared to the Nox. I (Steve) use the Nox more and more now especially in modern junk areas also the big coils for the X-Terra are expensive and would be probably be half the price of a Nox now. Good luck out there Roy.
@royallan371711 ай бұрын
@@GrotyGold Thanks for your opinions Steve as I never thought about weight and should give myself an upper cut thinking how many hours swinging a coil takes its toll. On the right track now

@@royallan3717 I have a nick name for the old girl it's the 2 ton terra we have taken people out and they seem to last about 20min and there arm is done lol. My longest swing with it was 11 hours with only a short lunch break. When i first used the big coil i set up the bungie cord from our SDC2300 to help swing it longer once my arm was up to speed i took the cord off. The Nox with the standard 15" is way better to swing i have tried the coiltek 14x9 i think it was and it was a lot heaver than the standard Minelab 15"
