Hello Alicia and Steve, great comparison with the two machines, that roofing nail was the only target that showed the difference, love my Xterra LOL, love that fancy broch you found Alicia so delicate... so close to getting the full house too, two coins short, thanks for sharing guys enjoyed it, GL&HH Jim .
@GrotyGold4 жыл бұрын
Cheers Jim, If that washer was gold i would have retired the terra on the spot lol i need to slow her down digging things like that so i can get to the good stuff first thats why i give her the small shovel lol might see if i can trick her into using a smaller coil and i might get to the florins and pin fire shells first. yes it was nearly a full house day we normally find a H/P but not today as you know shillings are hard to get any day i love when one shows up. I was hoping that broch was solid gold but no still a very cool find Thanks for watching mate good luck and happy hunting Steve & Alicia..

Enjoyed? Thoroughly is mr answer.I could pick the finds before you dug when you used the terra but only use my nox once so new numbers to remember.I checked the 15 inch coil today for the nox ..the elliptical and sells for almost $400 oh boy
@GrotyGold11 ай бұрын
The Nox 15 covers a lot of ground and the target separation is still good it is my go to for modern $1 and $2 gold coin hunting with only digging 20 21 22 with the sensitivity at around 10 it has found well over 2000 bucks over the years and i dont do that very often it can clean out a large area quickly and with each swing you can take a normal step it has to be a junk loaded spot for me to put a smaller coil on.

Hi Alicia & Steve, that's a nice cross selection of coins & jewellery you found. Thanks for showing a comparison between the NOX & the 705, it would be interesting to compare them for maximum reliable detection depth one day. That Victory Medal is an excellent find as it has its top loop attached. Pretty cool finding the 12G Pin Fire Shot Shell the base sure is in good condition. Thanks for sharing. Great as always. Cheers. GL&HH. 👍

I bought a 2nd hand X-terra a few years back, just in time for all the lockdowns, so I haven't had much of a chance to use it yet. It's good to see that it's quite a useful bit of kit, once I finally learn to use it properly. My one beef is that there's no external battery pack for them. On thing I noticed, when you dig a find out, do you ever check to see if there's anything else in the same spot?

Which setting do you put the 705 on? I’m a beginner and have mostly found nails and foil 🤷🏽♀️
@GrotyGold Жыл бұрын
I use the 3khz double D coil and only run all metal. I learnt not to use the notch discrimination as the same signal from a ring pull could be a silver coin. we manly use the 705 in old bush sites where every high tone is dug up and random old relics can have any number. Good luck out there cheers for stopping by.

I found that the nox in the 5 tone setting was better off with the tone break for tone 3 set to 17 instead of 20 because i hunt trashy sites on tones only and to bring those good targets that were right on the tone 3/4 boundry into the tone 4 range so I would stop for it .Sovs come in at 18 too so just to be sure. love your finds.

Thankyou for sharing your experiences. I have a 705 gold pack + ML 6" HF DD and was leaning toward NOX800 but can't really bring myself in parting with the $s. So found a secondhand ML 15" 7.5 kHz coil which should be good all round coil. Now I know I have made a good decision. Once again thanks for sharing.
@GrotyGold4 жыл бұрын
Thanks john, the 705 is an awesome bit of kit this one is running a 3khz 15" coil but i think the 7.5khz would be sweet too i do have a coilteck 15" in 18.75khz it is good not as stable as the 3khz but it is the the one to look for deep gold we have not found any with it yet but really only hunt coins and relics with the terra at the end of the day the 705 wont miss much its more important to get the spot that has the stuff in the ground and run it in all metal if you block out ring pulls you block out silver coins. Good luck & Happy hunting. Steve.
@Rucky8883 жыл бұрын
Can I ask how you found the 15" coil as compared to the 10 inch that came with the gold pack?
@johnnuske28783 жыл бұрын
@@Rucky888 I found the 15" coil to be great for covering ground more quickly if there are not too many targets. It meets requirements for plenty enough sensitivity for coin and relic hunting. The 7.5 kHz is great for target ID too. It is still a great detector. Still used on regular outings. Wouldn't use it for tiny gold nuggets though.
