Brilliant - thank you! It was driving me crazy trying to grip a coil in one hand ,or a rubber jaw vice, and cut without the coil slipping and messing up the groove! I'll definitely try this

Very brilliant! I was wondering why not just glue the paper to the metal and cut both of them?

If you’ve used the plate in the press can you still use it in a rolling mill ?
@AnniePenningtonJewelry Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use our pattern plates for both a press and rolling mill.

Hi Annie, do I still have to solder the jump rings after doing this??
@CazkiwiNZ Жыл бұрын
Well, she does start the tutorial by saying “When you solder”…. So I’d guess: “Yes” - 0:17

Thanks for the great tip. I printed directly on the transfer paper and with some pressure I managed to tranfer the printed lines on the gessoed surface without redrawing them with a pencil. This tip saved me so much time, thanks!!

I love them. But I do love when beautiful workmanship isn’t drilled out. Rather an ear wire or bail soldered on.

Gosh so much time and work. Just use a rolling mill.
@AnniePenningtonJewelry2 жыл бұрын
These plates are designed for use in a rolling mill, but this is an option for folks who don't have one. It is a lot more work, for sure.

Outstanding video. You speak with clarity and what you say makes a lot of sense. Thank you. I love the overall look of your earrings as well. Can you tell me what size is your square wire on which the bar sits on the tip? Thanks for sharing.

That literally did not explain how to cut it though. We followed the whole step process to cutting, and then ~tada its all magically cut out after a drill hole

This is a great video! Thanks so much! I do have a question about making the earring with post. So far I've only made earrings with ear wires and then just soldered them. How do you secure the jacket back to the earring post? And/or how do you make the catch for the earring post?

Great video! I've used everything from broken stylus pens from my old LG Stylo phones, large gauge wires, to wooden kabob skewers and I've even used the smallest section of my step looping pliers to get elongated jump rings that are bigger on one end creating an 🥚 egg shaped jump ring. Granted longer items are best if you're making LOTS of jump rings but not necessary if you have enough patience. It's certainly a lot cheaper to make them than to buy them pre-made. And... it's not only a rite of passage for bench jewelers to make creative use of ordinary items but it's downright smart! 👍 Thanks for sharing!🙂
