In the 13th century, Mongols from the North took power, 100 years later they were overthrown by the Ming from south, the Ming was defeated by Manchus, later there was a three feudatories rebellion in the South, then the Qing was ovethrown and the dominant faction became Kuamintang from the South (after the warlord era), they got invade by the Japanese from the North and then defeated by Communists who advanced from the north following the long march and Soviet help.
