I am doing my PhD and working on Wind Turbine Aeroelastic analysis through MATLAB Simulation by using Simscape Multibody. But I am really struggling and dont understand MATLAB and how to do these things properly on MATLAB. The reason is that my teacher gave his lectures in Japanese so that's why I am not getting anything. can you please suggest me some specific papers or KZbin channel to helps me out. I learn many things thanks to you

Sir your lecture are very helful for any begineer for Matlab simscape multibody, why did you stopped making additional video, sir?
@cesareutizi348Ай бұрын
Thanks for the video. Not understood because the two masses oscillate without any signal applied and having calculated the natural length of the spring..

00:00 - *Introduction* - Presenter: Suraj introduces the tutorial on modeling a two-spring mass system in Simscape Multibody. - Focus: Horizontal oscillation of two masses connected by springs. - Outline: Requirements, modeling steps, subsystem creation, and extending to two-spring mass system. 01:24 - *System Requirements* - Key components: - Ground and gravity (modeled as vertical downward force). - Inertial reference frame for origin definition. - Three main bodies: red, green, and blue; optional gray base and end plates. - Springs and joints: - Two springs, one motion input, and three joints. - Visualization aids like base and end plates ensure clarity. 04:21 - *Simscape Multibody Setup* - Software setup: - MATLAB 2019a version used; initial environment configurations demonstrated. - Gravity reoriented to -Y direction. - Base plate and end plate: - Dimensions defined for visual representation. - Frames for connectivity carefully placed. 14:47 - *Modeling Body 1 and Rotating Body* - Body 1: - Defined as a 200mm cuboid, 10kg mass, with bottom and side frames. - Rotating body: - Green rectangular component connected to body 1. - Revolute joint added for rotational motion. 23:16 - *Joint Configurations* - Joint 1: - Prismatic joint for body 1’s horizontal motion. - Rigid transform aligns Z-axis motion to horizontal X-axis movement. - Joint 2: - Revolute joint for rotating body with motion input. - Angular velocity provided via a ramp function, simulating oscillation at natural frequency. 33:45 - *Spring and Force Configuration* - Spring 1: - Connects body 1 to the base plate with calculated natural length (0.85m). - Spring stiffness: 1000 N/m; damping disabled. - Force sensing enabled for scientific analysis. 38:37 - *Simulation and Analysis (Single Spring-Mass System)* - Results: - Rotating body causes oscillatory motion in body 1. - Increasing amplitude observed due to lack of damping. - Visualization: - Mechanics Explorer reveals behavior and verifies setup. - Position, velocity, and spring force plotted for analysis. 53:22 - *Extending to Two-Spring Mass System* - Additional components: - Body 2 (100mm cuboid, 1kg) positioned 0.6m from body 1. - Spring 2 connects body 2 to body 1, ensuring linear alignment. - Stiffness for Spring 2 set to 100 N/m, ensuring same natural frequency as body 1. - Adjustments: - Rigid transforms manage positional offsets. - Second prismatic joint added for body 2’s motion. 1:06:24 - *Simulation and Results (Two-Spring Mass System)* - Observations: - Body 2 acts as a damping mass, reducing body 1’s oscillation amplitude. - Energy transfer observed: Body 2 absorbs oscillatory motion, stabilizing body 1. - Plot comparison: - Position, velocity, and spring force of both bodies compared. - Body 2 demonstrates damping behavior, evident in oscillation reduction. 1:14:11 - *Industrial Relevance and Conclusion* - Real-world application: - Analogous to acoustic dampers in machinery to reduce vibrations. - Smaller mass and spring coefficients effectively stabilize larger systems. - Degrees of freedom: - System DOF calculated as 2, accounting for motion constraints. - Final remarks: - Comprehensive modeling workflow completed; users encouraged to experiment further.

Hello Dr.Suraj. Thank you for your video. I was having trouble with the hydraulic actuator as it does not let me connect anything from the tank to the 3 way directional valve A port. I was wondering if there is a way I can work around this. I think someone else prior had the same issue. Thanks.

Maybe you can show in another tutorial how to visualize also the forces which acts in this system (e.g. side force to the cylinder from the piston with friction) ? That would be really great, because in praxis these are very important measurements.

Nice informative videos! Can you guide on how to simulate journal bearing using simscape provided we have stiffness and damping coefficients along with eccentricity ratio at particular speed? I saw in one of your video of double pendulum, you spoke about usage of revolute joint as journal bearing. please elaborate further on it.
