Interesting, thanks for making your videos! I'd think the steppers would do just fine as they are. They can be driven to one extreme every start up to find reference and should very unlikely lose any steps if not driven too fast.

Maybe I'm wrong, but sounds like that alu block is done. Don't think they handle overheat like cast iron, wonder did the head expand and pull the bolts hard enough to warp the block lower down. Would a small diesel not be a better fit? Maybe liquid cooled 2cyl in a soundproof box?

Are you running this on propane or petrol? If you're running on LPG maybe your pressure regulator cant keep up. The other point is that the engine running on LPG will be considerably hotter than running on petrol, especially in WOT situation. Maybe that could contribute to blown head gasket. Kepp up the good work, I enyoj your content very much.

In air-cooled engines a drop in power is very common as the engine heats up. A drop of 50% indicates to me that the engine was close to seizing up. This could be due to lack of oil circulation or just straight overheating. The hone will not take out or correct a distorted barrel. Unless it is wear in a longitudinal (wear at the top or bottom of barrel. I would be replacing the barrel as well as the head.. if not the whole engine. Using ZX1 in the oil will dramatically reduce the heat generated inside the engine from friction. However, that engine is basically toast.

Are you using this for a biodigester or a paraglider?

Loss of power could be a fuel issue. If you have a thermal imaging camera or it temp gun see if the temps change when it loses power. It could be running lean.

I've had one of these scanners that has been working very well. But suddenly this evening I'm getting a strange black artefact on every single scan of negatives. Half way up one of the short sides, it looks a bit like a spider half sticking out into the frame. Not large, in total maybe a millimetre or two into the negative area. It's there on every single scan. Same place, exactly same shape, same size. It doesn't matter which frame in the carrier I'm scanning, it's always there, so can't be something on the carrier or a particular negative. It isn't regular like a line across / down the frame, so doesn't look as though it could be something on the sensor / mirror / light source as those just move in a straight line across the frame. I've had the cover off and can't see anything inside that would account for it. And I've tried compressed air to try to clear anything. But no effect. Still exactly the same artefact in exactly the same place every time. The fact that it comes out as black on negative scans suggests that some pattern of extra light is reaching the sensor (rather than light being blocked) - if I swap to a positive scan it comes out the same shape, but light. Any ideas?

Why removing cells from casing? Decreasing size? How will they be repurposed and arranged? Have you made a video showing those built? Seen them on your bike video charging with welder but not from inside

I would just nip to my local Scrap Merchant for some lead pipe. Melt it in a pot to skim the impurities off, before using it.
@ShaunDobbie2 ай бұрын
That doesn't work as it flows very badly and damages the components on the board due to its higher melting point.
