Good video and production. If you had a C spanner you could drill a hole in it as near as possible to the peg and then file flats within the new hole to the same dive your torque wrench is, ie 3/8 or 1/2

Hi, great channel. Just acquired my own CX500 and I've been learning a lot about these bikes from your work. Just wondering about the relay you have connecting the neutral light and clutch. Is that a standard relay or did it come with the bike? Curious as to why there are only 2 cables coming out of it? I also have the same m.unit setup, but not that there yet with wiring it up. Thanks

It's the small details that are so helpful. This series is my favorite. I have 6 more cx500/650s to build. There are 51 various bikes in my shop to build. I think I will rebuild all the CX motors together, since now becoming so familiar.

I'm in the midst of rebuilding one of 6 CX 500s. I'm using a two part paint, a hardener and base so to make the motor impervious to gas. I did initially vaporblast the motor in one piece before disassembly. After disassembly, I re-vapor blasted a few parts before painting. Vapor blasting is an essential tool in my shop. This video is a great help to us learners.

Nice video, but the omission to leave out why and the specifications of of length etc of these DIY plastic parts. I have a CX500 trike you see, and I'm looking to service/beef up the standard forks or put the front end of another bike on her.

Nice video! Now I have the same build. And I'm just fixing the rear wheel. I didn't notice anywhere in your video that you addressed the geometry of the rear wheel. My procedure was the same, but I have a problem with the fact that the rear wheel is a bit slanted. Can it be compared somehow?

Same for negative would be a wise choice. As far as reg/rec...I genuinely purchased it. How would one know if it is genuine? And what does genuine really mean? So I can't answer your question.

Hi Podgy. You can get screw sets on ebay for about $50 AUD including shipping, but this link will give you a link to the sizes. Use antiseize if getting stainless screws to prevent galling. Cheers. www.cx500forum.com/threads/screw-size-list-for-carbs.15052/

I have a similar issue, although it’s my right cylinder that’s not firing. The bikes wiring was torn apart, but I get spark in both cylinders. The carbs have been cleaned and synchronized. But the right cylinder only runs for a little bit when it’s cold. After a few seconds it chokes itself out and the right cylinder is dead. If I really get on it, the right cylinder will start to fire, but only at the top of the rpm range and not very smooth. Any ideas? Compression test went well, 151psi in the right cylinder, 149 psi for the left cylinder.

Quick question. On the introductory picture there is jets a jet needle an idle air screw an emulation tube and a cirletrical double sided tube looking thing. What is the name of that double sided tube looking thing ? What does it do? And most important, where does it go? I ask because I have just one extra part. That part. Thanks.
@TheOdontologist
@TheOdontologist 2 жыл бұрын
If it's the small silver tube you're referring to, it may be the slide jet needle. Look at around the 13:30 mark and slow video down in settings.

Those pulse generators don't need taking off if I'm just changing the stator right? Edit : just watched again, the flywheel is attached to the pulse coils. Ready to drop my 650 turbo engine
