Honestly, I completely understand wearing a mask. Even if you didn't mind sharing your face/identity, there is always someone that will take advantage of it over the smallest thing they've taken offense to. It's twisted, but definitely not worth sacrificing a career and financial well-being over.

I think your content and work quality is 20 times better than most guntubers video quality and editing skills. Trust me, you’re far higher above the curve than you think. I’m glad I found your channel and I love the gun upgrades you do and love and respect you give to your father that helped train you in machining. You’re a real treasure if you ask me. If you’d like more work flow for content making, I can hook you up with a custom 2011 builder that would love to have your machining and porting work.

I really appreciate you saying all that. i know my content wont have wide appeal to a general audience(like larger gun channels). its always nice to hear from the folks that my content does connect with. It really means a lot to me! I love working on 2011s... thats kind of my current obsession haha. But i think that could quickly get into a business type of arrangement which I want to avoid. I appreciate the thought and offer. Who knows how stuff goes down the road but for now I'm flush with projects.

I've quickly come to appreciate your work. I like a nice technical breakdown of specific things. I've always been a fan of knowing how the sausage is made, and think that often times, that if we know how things work in explicit detail, we can better use those things. I've written for a gun website for a number of years, and really hate most gun media. It's often shills, thinly veiled advertising, or just bunk info. However, it's made me latch onto content made by people who care about what they do, are honest, and are detailed. I've gleamed a ton of value from your videos. For a channel name, that's hard to say. Opossum Pistols? Thanks for uploading, and thanks for giving us a little look behind the curtain here!

I cant the TLR1-HL to clamp on the rail of the Tisas 1911 DS carry. I bought the adapter from QVO and even real snug I can knock the light off the rail with minimal effort. Any ideas or tips?
@dltz
@dltz 3 күн бұрын
Sup dude. My Tisas rail was on the wide side. And I just dealt with this on my MAC9DS too. The rail on the MAC9DS is quite a bit too big. I posted pics on my reddit of where I needed to remove material (Shiny spot). I bet yours is having the same issue. Since the rail is so much wider, the body of the light hits the rail before the clamp can tighten all the way up. Link to the pics: www.reddit.com/user/rrppdd4/comments/1fcdovs/tlr_1hl_mod_for_tisas_rail/ 1. turn your thumb screw all the way in. Take off the snap ring. Pry it off with a little screw driver or something. 2. Turn the thumb screw all the way out and remove little clamp so you can get to the areas that need filed. 3. it may help to remove the little addapter block in the center. 4. file the shiny areas that are shown in the pictures. Keep the angle of them the same but remove material from the face. do a bit. check fitment by screwing the clamp back on and seeing if it tightens up and sits straight on the rail. Remove more material if needed. I cover the shiny area with black sharpie so its not super obvious. Hope this helps!

I finally shot the full size and wow it was fun. I really want a carry version but my thing is I’ll actually carry it and if o have to use it it’ll be taken away. So essentially I don’t want to spend 2500 plus on my edc and it winds up in an evidence locker or worse. Since Psa has these on sale for 600 and everything else is 1000 plus bucks I think I’ll buy the carry and get two guns for less than a prodigy and fine tune it and if I happen to use it and have to give it up it won’t be a crazy loss.
@dltz
@dltz 3 күн бұрын
With a carry gun, if you lose it you're gonna lose it. So yeah I understand not wanting to spend $2500 for a carry gun. I think the Tisas Carry DS would be a good option. $600 is a good price for them. They are a solid platform for upgrades. You can really improve them for not a lot of money.

@@legacyfirearmstraining7613 I am guessing you had some rounds thru the gun before porting. Shouldn't be a break in period. Do the easy, obvious stuff first. make sure your gun is cleaned and well lubricated then try different ammo types. The next most obvious thing is dropping your recoil spring weight. Porting the barrel redirects some of the energy from the gas upward as it exits the barrel. That means less energy is going to pushing the slide rearward to cycle the action. barrel porting or adding a compensator generally necessitates a lighter recoil spring by 1-2 pounds. Less obvious things: the locking block likely needed to be removed from the barrel for it to be fixtured and machined - maybe it was reinstalled improperly - like the roll pin slightly hanging out and affecting the movement of the barrel in the frame. Lots of things to check. Get an idea of how the system works. Should be easy to track down. Good luck!
