Just buy a 2 speed craftsman 1-1/8 HP. I flip the belt to the slower speed and installed a metal blade. Works perfect! Have $150 invested.

Very good ~ you did not say what it was doing before you replaced belts! Was the fly wheel not consistently moving, so not stitching ?

Old video but hey that beast looks like a great find, not much different fom my 1972 Toro 726, you can still buy some parts or Chinese equivalents for the carb etc, surprised about the wheel clutches, thing is the drive has no slippage, so working on dry pavement can cause damage, there are also a few plastic collars that slide the drivedwheel over to the driveplate There are a lot of bronze wear bushing, auger, impeller, wheels, that need grease and may need replacement ... Toro could restart production of this exact machine and it would become a commercial best seller...

I came up with a similar answer except did 1.75" and 6.0" on both runs. This yields about 148fpm and allows you to use the old belt guard with one small modification. I did drop the motor lower in the case and blocked up the saw about 1.5" to give the belts a bit more contact.

Mate thank you for your instructions you just saved my wife and I from buying a new dishwasher turns out a small piece of plastic had lodged itself in the rotor blade making a god awful cracking noise. Once I followed your instructions it’s humming away like a charm 🍺 cheers.

Thank you so much for your post. I followed every step, and cleaned some small soft stuff. I pulled the last housing straight up with a plier instead of screw driver. The big noise disappeared now. I really appreciated it

Thank you for putting together such a clear, concise and realistic video on this. I'm facing the same job and have a question. 3 wires are removed form the Solenoid. Main Power is the larger cable, Ignition Switch Signal is the 8mm nut, but what is the 3rd one? A ground perhaps? What's going on with my E38 is the Switch terminal is only getting ~8 volts and not even producing a click. Relay output inside the E-box works fine, its output terminal has battery voltage when key is in Start. Pretty sure I need to clean up the connections at the solenoid, but I want to make sure all my ducks are in a row before I jump in. Ideally, I'd be removing the sub-harness and cleaning/rehabbing it on the bench. Perhaps you know a few things that might make this easier?

Great video showing how to do this job! BUT, I would like to add a very important piece of information. Before torquing the bolts. Drop the vehicle down with tires on ramps at standard ride height, THEN torque the bolts. OR use a transmission jack to push the lower control arm to standard ride height and torque bolts. This will prevent the bushings from binding causing premature failure. Hope that helps another DIYer!

we bought our house in 2017 and the dishwasher was already here, now fast forward to june 30 2023 loaded and started dishwasher and it starts making a buzzing sound as it starts up. wife looks at me, i look at her and hit cancel. try again nope. so start looking for repair videos. i found yours watched it and then at the end called my wife in to see if sound was the same, yep. i found two screws in there one in by the grinder and one on the bottom, plastic strip, and something else. i guess this is just a long way of saying THANK YOU, last time we had a service call for something it ran us $600. this just cost 26.00 for the shop vac wet filter. Thanks again.

Doug looks like the pillow block shaft has a slot all the way across it to secure the pulleys - Yes? No slot would not work?

Doug. Is there a reason that your cross bracing for your Pillow blocks etc. uses angle iron on the back and flat bar stock on the front? Just what you had laying around?
