53:46 A little tech tip, any time you are disconnecting a battery and draining surcharge from the positive wire to the negative wire like that, you want to make sure you don't have an auxiliary battery or any kind of second battery in your system. These are common on luxury cars, cars with start-stop systems, or diesel pickup trucks. The consequence of connecting the 10 ohm resistor with another battery still connected is you would melt the resistor.

This is my first video and this is great stuff. I did plugs I believe on that motor recently and was able to remove the coils and plugs with a some effort and no intake removal . I think you can do the front one pretty easy to do bank 2 in cylinder waveform. All of them are not fun and you have to be careful because the plug sticks to the boot pretty good. Cool alternate technique though.

After replacing the fuel pump Im now having a problem with a vapor lock and my new pump is making a ringing/humming noise off and on-is there a way to fix it with a inline check valve or inline filter of some sort. I have to release pressure on the fuel rail to re-crank it after it runs for more than 20 minutes/ which is a possible fire risk.

Does someone have enough technical knowledge to explain why the Nissan's injector waveforms had, what appears to be, a mini sine-wave after the towers? Based on my knowledge, it would suggest that there is some type of capacitance in the circuit, as circuits with both inductance and capacitance will oscillate like this.

I wanted to see the fuel pump go over 8800 RPM to see if it will make the car time travel.

This tech is so cool! You can diagnose the rings pretty easily without this gear though. Just do a dry and wet compression test. Observe pressure out of oil filler etc. No way of telling that the cam is advanced though without it!

If the injectors have a higher rail pressure will they inject more fuel per ms if the injector hole size stays the same? Or is it just the size of the hole/time open that dictates how much fuel is injected?
@RideBikes_Walkplaces16 күн бұрын
When youre doing ybe injector flow rate test, j presume the gas is being injected directly into the cylinder. If there a chance of the vehicle hydraulicing the cylinders when its next turned over? Or does it evaporate? If it evaporates, i presume you can't do this with a diesel?

Anyone this skilled or have these skills in West Yorkshire, UK? If so I'd love to come and volunteer with you on a Saturday. I've been a mechanic for 20 years in a garage that isn't interested in this kind of stuff and I'm craving some knowledge! Awesome video and diagnosis 😊

Even if it's not possible to decode every manufacturers command set, a signal monitor scan tool ought to be able to list out the traffic by header addresses and data values as the packet format is standardized. It should also be possible to identify the modules that have been kicked offline due to errors.

The first thing I would have done is open the hood take the dipstick out for fuel smell in the oil and then run your test replace injectors replace spark plugs change the oil

Snap on has a magnet tool that you slide in one polarity and it magnetizes the screwsdriver to hold the screw on. Then you rub the screwdriver on the side of the tool an all magnetization is completely gone.

I feel bad for whatever guy spent $1100 for this shop to tell him he needs a $49 u joint that any kid or woman mechanic could of found in 5 minutes. 😂😂😂😂. Holy shit dude

I'm retired but If I was starting out learning from ATS and using the tools would have made me a fantastic technician. Of course when I had a shop we were still changing points and condensers. Working on wiring was mostly to fix window switches or replacing harnesses on some vans that tended to melt wires due to excessive heat.
