Her home doesn't really like or accept her, but the new on is very similar to the ones in her stories, and she can relate to them so much more. She's gonna wanna fangirl over all the stuff this world has that she loves so much. (Though, I will say, you aren't wrong about the cringe dialogue.) It's what makes the Owl House unique. Luz enters a world she already knows a lot about, due to it having lots of similarities to her favorite series of books, and is excited to be there to do the thing she's wanted to most in life, and that almost never happens in an isekai story. Also, throughout S1, she has a way home, and can choose to leave whenever, unlike other isekais. I can understand the view point, but I don't agree.

DoA is one of the greatest films ever. An absolute gem of a film that is charming and beautiful, and that I can imagine having in the background all day long, along with some others, like Ley Lines.

Amphibia is like the Disney Show version of the recent 2016 & 2018 Animated Action show series Kulipari. Because both Kulipari & Amphibia have Frog characters. Especially with some of the same voice talents. 30:36 Such as Keith David who voiced Marmoo the Scorpion Lord in Kulipari & King Andrias in Amphibia. As for Kulipari, there were 2 Seasons at the time. The 3rd was under production at the time when Amphibia came in 2019-2022. Now the long awaited 3rd Season has finally arrived this year. Here’s what I say about both of those 2 best Animated Frog shows in this Century. I wish both Kulipari & Amphibia here were available on Complete Series on DVD Sets just like the 2012 Disney Show Gravity Falls for example. Only time will tell when both Kulipari & Amphibia will be available on Complete Series on DVD Sets. Oh & 1 more thing, Amphibia is & was the most heartwarming & heartbreaking Disney show that I’ve ever watched & experienced. Almost like the 1st 2 Seasons of Digimon. Before the 2020 Reboot of Digimon was slowly starting to come along.

I'm excited to find someone else who likes Amphibia as much as I do! Personally, I would rank it in the top 3 for sure (the other two being Gravity Falls and Phineas and Ferb). I did not like TOH. Something about it felt a bit off, I didn't feel any sort of connection to any of the characters, and there were very few elements I actually liked. Plus I found the fandom to be toxic -- dismissive at best and outright bullies at worst. Same deal with Steven Universe. I am so glad you said what I always think when I see episode rankings: I will never understand people who dismiss an entertaining episode just because it doesn't advance the plot. My favorite episodes usually tend to be the ones that are funny, AND advance some side plot, AND give some small progress to the main plot. But ultimately, it's how I immediately feel about an episode that is the determining factor, and that's hard to put into words. In Gravity Falls' case, my favorites include Tourist Trapped, Irrational Treasure, The Deep End, Scaryoke, Blendin's Game, Northwest Mansion Mystery, The Stanchurian Candidate, Weirdmageddon 2: Escape From Reality, Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back the Falls, the final act of Gideon Rises, and the first act of Roadside Attraction. In Amphibia's case, they include Anne Theft Auto, Snow Day, A Night at the Inn, Combat Camp, The Ballad of Hopediah Plantar, Truck Stop Polly, The Sleepover to End All Sleepovers, Night Drivers, The First Temple, Battle of the Bands, Thai Feud, Fixing Frobo, Sprig's Birthday, Froggy Little Christmas, The Root of Evil, The Core and the King, Fight or Flight, All In, and the one that's just on another level, Marcy at the Gates. Season 2 was absolutely the strongest of the 3 Amphibia seasons. Each season followed a pattern that I noticed: episode 1 had the main authority figure try to lock down the kids, a mandate that was removed quicker than in real life 2020. Then the first half of the season had Anne and the Plantars adjusting to a new environment, while the second half took place mainly in Wartwood and featured a member of the Calamity Trio taking charge and working towards the goal of getting home. It all comes to a head in the finale when everything from that season comes together, and everyone's true colors come out. I would say Gravity Falls has the best mystery and the best story, Amphibia has the best worldbuilding and the most heart, and Phineas and Ferb is the most fun!

I think part of the reason I liked Marcy's betrayal in true colors was because I originally (mainly after the release of her theme song takeover) saw her as a mary sue, and normally I hate mary sue characters, what made me like her before true colors was she was simply relatable as an autistic person. But had she been the main character, I wouldn't have liked her so much. Without her betrayal, she was normally this flawless quirky perfect girl character. As someone with separation anxiety, her betrayal felt like something I likely would have done if I was in her situation, in other words, her one flaw made her more relatable, which was why I liked her so much in the beginning.

Also for any calamity trio shipper out there Mat Braly says that they non Canon in an interview no I'm not making it up it's legit

8:50 I feel like "story based" episodes are overrated. the so called "filler" helped easing us into, not only the world of Amphibia, but also just the town they were in. Yes, a little more story centric episodes don't hurt, but without the breathing space of filler epsiodes we just couldnt explore or experience the character and setting in a much needed casual way. Take Hazbin Hotel for example, that show had basically 0 filler, it was straight up a race to a conclusion for the end of the season, we barely got time to see the details, any character dinamics explored, or see anything of the world outside or inside the hotel. TLDR: filler matters more than people are willing to admit, and I am glad you agree

I feel like the ending fight was more referencing Sonic Adventure 2 than anything from Zelda. Like, THe villain uses a moon sized object to crash down on it's world as a last stand, The 3/2 main characters which were sometimes hating each other get a powered up form which then they fight the moonsized thing and one of them dies and comes back to life... THis show loves Sonic

I LOVE Amphibia okay. Yes there is flaws but overall it was a great show. All the characters I came to love in the end. No matter how many times I watch it I always cry when it is time for the girls and the audience to say goodbye.😭😭😭

It seemed to me the adaptation was basically Symphony of the Night (given the Lisa backstory and blonde Alucard) because the creator(s) probably wanted to do SoTN but somebody with creative control said: "No! Chronological order!" and nobody was sure if they would get renewed for enough episodes to get to SoTN, which screwed Richter over when the show did get renewed.

I absolutely love both TOH and Amphibia equally. These are the best shows I’ve seen; I haven’t really seen anything that has me invested on Disney since. I have no idea what to watch since they BOTH ended ;-;

Apologies if this sounds rude but when it comes to animation and visuals it’s best to be more lenient with it because it’s real people, no one tries to make something bad, some people may not care as much but they still want it to be at least a bit good. Edit: 9:58 there is a star in the moon’s shadow. It is a 9.9/10 intro. Edit 2: 15:44 it’s amazing what you can do when you don’t call it alcohol

I think its important to point out that a lot of the issues that came with Amphibia season 3 were Disney's fault and not a decision by the crew. True Colors was the first episode that Disney really messed with as they decided that they didn't think it was appropriate for Disney channel only a few days before it was supposed to air. They delayed the airing and in the few weeks between the original version getting leaked by Itunes and the official version airing, the only two things that changed were the warning at the beginning and the season 3 teaser at the end. Though we have no confirmation on this, I wouldn't be surprised if the season 3 intro hadn't been made at the time and Disney had them animate it before they would air the episode so people weren't left thinking Marcy had actually died. This would explain why they couldn't get a higher quality for the intro as they probably cared more about releasing True Colors quickly than they cared about the quality of the season 3 intro. We also know for a fact (though I can't remember exactly where this was confirmed as it was a while ago) that season 3 was originally going to have a darker tone and explore Anne's emotional issues from watching her best friend get impaled right in front of her. This didn't end up happening because Disney (especially after the True Colors situation) wouldn't let them give it that darker tone. I still think the crew did a phenomenal job with what they were given, and though season 3 had its problems, I don't want to blame them for the issues that Disney caused.

This is one of those cartoons i can inmagine being beloved for decades to come. I am just starting with season 2.

I will praise TJ Hill to high heaven for the score in Amphibia. While his work in Owl House is also top tier, I think that switching to Brad Breeck hurt the score overall (imho)

One slight nit. In Yesterday’s Lie, Camilla asked Luz to promise to stay with her. In Follies at the Coven Day Parade it had warped in Luz’s mind to never go back there.

Personally, I prefer Amphibia over TOH, but I prefer Gravity Falls over Amphibia.

Okay I understand it's the end of the series but this is never goodbye this is not the end of the franchise the director did say that she will want to bring it back but right now she needs a well deserved break so the best thing we can do is keep this awesome large fan base going and remember she adores this so like the director said in one of her tweets she does plan on bringing back at the spin-off series shorts and comic series just give it time and may not be this year or next year all we can do is be patient and keep this fan base alive and give her the time that she needs during the show it represented not the destination but the journey that we go on through life. This is never goodbye it's only the beginning of something of something amazing for the future 🤩❤ 😉

57:40 I think it is very much intentional that Eda and Lilith are still cursed and have to live with the effects of it. With many people viewing the curse as an analogy for disability, it is refreshing that it doesn't just go away but they still thrive not even in spite of it but in some ways because of it. The curse opened up avenues for them that they would've never explored otherwise and Eda learning to get along with the owl beast was clearly showing an acceptance of the circumstances you have in life instead of living in denial.
