I adore you had soooo much patience in this project. I have a working scirocco, use it daily, although not fancy at all, it takes money, patience, time, and so few times till it would look nice. Any problem, like now where a fuel line for pressures of 6 Bars burst after 40 years of use, it is a huge problem to find a fitting part. It will sit in garage till I find it. You are an inspiration, I must say. Thank you a lot for so many wonderful, problems facing videos.

Hey bro! Been watching for some years. Love it. I have an 86 8V as well. Learning lots from you. Thank you! BTW check out your brake booster check valve. That could be why your have no brakes pressure and also why it stalls when you hit the brakes. Good luck bro! Keep up the awesome work! Hope to get mine running soon.

Ahh yes. Good frickin job man. Its about time. Maybe you can look into checking if your brake booster itself has a leak, or if the check valve to your brake booster is faulty. Mainly if your brake booster fails, you will have to press even harder to properly engage the brakes, as you do not have the vacuum assist of the brake booster

Hello. Curious how many wires you have going to the starter. I have an 86 8V and recently replaced the starter. I have one wire going to the battery + and one going to the ignition switch. I understand there should be a 3rd wire going to the ignition coil. Do you have that? What terminal on the coil does it go to? Thanks!

Can't you get an A/C condenser from a Scirocco in the junkyard? If not, would you like me to send you a spare A/C condenser? I have experience reinstalling A/C that was previously deleted in my Scirocco 16V. Its decently cold & it uses R134a.
@ParksandRecYT
@ParksandRecYT 2 ай бұрын
No Sciroccos in junkyards around here or surrounding states unfortunately. The condenser fitting on mine broke years and years ago, so at the moment, it does not bother me to have no AC. IF I decide to "go there", I may contact you. I really appreciate you and others willing to help me out. And, at the moment, I'm, just focused on getting her started. I just want that first start and drive. Maybe AC in the future. Thanks!

Speaking from experience with my scirocco, the exhaust, the last end part, if not original, has to be changed at least once a year. Rust free, self made, did the job, stayed there for 20 y.

W0W there's More videos!? ! I've had my 1984 Scirocco sitting for 26 years. Was Rear Ended, Failed to get insurance companies to make me & my car Whole. It Ran GREAT, could eat off engine, [but don't]. Insurance Co had car for 2 months, would not return, Finally Demanded Return, only to receive it Flooded with Water, & NOT Running. Never could get it running since. Quite bummed. Forgotten much of what i learned, tho, still have Book, Car, and working on Desire; This will sure help, *Cheers!* _sorry for rant_

Love your channel and your project. Every time you turn that wheel you will smile knowing you did it right. And, I 100% agree about the black end cap on your ignition cylinder. If you compromised your be pissed every time you see it - which is every time you drive. Like a zoom effect in an Alfred Hitchcock movie. Can't wait for the episode when you unbox the rebuilt fuel distributor. I'm probably going to send them my distributor and WUR too (Volvo not VW) Press on regardless.
