I think this scene explains what the ori really are and they're like a similar ancient dark sect. I really love the staffs glowing white it's like "light the torches to bring hope and truth across the galaxy". I think this has been and on an off war for centuries to make sure they never gain power over the universe.

As fun as it is, looking back, it seems odd that there's a box which unearths 'truths' but only one sides. Each side believes themselves to be the good guys, and have their own truths. From Adrias perspective the Tauri committed genocide against an entire race of (imo evil) ascended beings but that's still genicide
