Hi, I'm from the future...2024 (of this video). Some how I've lost contact with your channel. So I re-subscribed so that at a minimum I won't lose the great content that you produced and with hope you return to make some more. If not then all the best in whatever your new direction is.

Mike - this is so sad to hear. I just found your channel and have been going through your amazing videos. I know you told us to not subscribe, but I couldn't help it. Best of luck in all of your future endeavors and thank you for the contributions to the community.

Here in 2024 and Mike you are still an inspiration and still missed. The hobby, though it has expanded and grown, it is still not the same without you and your artistic talent and the knowledge you provided. I’ve been going through your videos and reminiscing. Thank you and here’s to hoping just maybe you will say “hi” again to the community that you inspired.

The ultimate irony is that he averted alcohol most of his life; preferring smoking instead. This comes from his experience of his alcoholic father.

When I was a kid in the 80s and started building, all I had were Testors tubes for putty and glue. My dad finally got me a Testors liquid cement and it really opened my eyes to how bad the stringy glue is (it does have it's uses, sparingly). Glad to see the Testors is decent, it's just a pain with the stupid tubes. Would have liked to see the Tamiya putty too. My question, if you're still here after 8 years, is how to thin the Testors/solvent based putty?

10:21 i work in resin/epoxy,to get waves you just use cellofan plastic, when it is semi dry use a big piece that covers all the epoxy. And when it “stick” to the surface, you can pull on the ends and get ripples or you can make soft undulations with a spoon

2024 and still referencing these videos. Still awesome 😎.

Almost all my paints are Vallejo, and pretty happy about that. But Vallejo Verdigris is the worst paint I have ever painted. It has a gelatine texture and there's no way to thin it properly. It never paints the way I like it to paint

How does the all purpose foam coat handle details? Does it fill them in instead of highlighting them like the boost does?

What an artist we lost this day. I send nothing but love through time. I left the hobby for some years and looked forward to seeing you coming back. I will use many of your videos. All I can say is I hope you and your family are well. Blessings to you brother.

Hey man. I don't know if you still monitor comments here, but this video just crossed my mind and I rewatched it. My big brother got me back into wargaming during Christmas 2010 and in early 2011 I was researching Quickshade and found this video, and then watched all your other videos. It feels very nostalgic to me now, and very evocative of that year. My brother and I played a lot of Warhammer in 2011 and 2012. He passed away unexpectedly in that year and so my memories of getting back into the hobby around that time are very tied up with memories of him. Your videos were really great- very informative, calm and warmly conversational.

I just noticed how long ago this was posted so apparently I’m a little late! Lol
