Lennox was the man that made Tyson want to almost retire. Tyson was NEVER the same after he fought Lennox. Tyson said that Lennox hit him the hardest he was ever hit. Lennox is a true warrior champion. I'm an American saying that. Respect to England for having this champ !

Too bad this fight is on a bad VHS tape because this is an incredible fight with two warriors. But the bad quality of the VHS messes up the experience of watching this. But hats off to Sterling for uploading this fight !!

Rooney was no HOF trainer. He essentially got lucky with the right fighter. He was in the right place at the right time. He was a trainer who stuck his nose into Tysons business, couldn’t keep his mouth shut and got canned. He’s done nothing significant in boxing since. He’s a drunk. Tysons downfall can be placed at the feet of Tyson himself and Don King, who screwed over every fighter he’s had. Don King cared only about Don King.

If holmes had had a couple warm up fights this fight would of been a lot different, coming of the sofa after nearl 2 years on inactivity at age 38 to face tyson is stupid. But im glad he got a taste of what he did to Ali

The reff is the goat, he deliberately allowed mike punish larry holmes for his disrespect of Mohammed Ali... So he gave mike the time to beat larry just before the last knock down...

Prime Mike Tyson (1986 - '88/89) was one of the best heavyweights of all time with brilliant offensive and defensive technique plus power, speed, boxing knowledge, a great chin and spite in the ring. During this period, he wasn't a 'head-hunter', used a great jab (though he was poor at in-fighting), fought multiple times per year and destroyed opponents who were genuinely, unbeaten/highly rated/champions and ex-champions and/or were fancied to beat him e.g., Pinklon Thomas, Tony Tucker, Tyrell Biggs, Michael Spinks and Holmes. Typically, these fighters were dismissed in history as not being that good once beaten by Tyson, and this is disingenuous. Tyson was a breath of fresh air to the game at this time when he remained focused and that's how he unified the HW division by the age of just 21, after a decade of split title claimants. Once his life outside of the ring, Don King and the hangers-on gradually consumed him, Jim Jacobs also passed away and then he dismissed Kevin Rooney and what was left of his original his team a year later (circa late ‘89), he was sadly, never the same athlete or boxer. D'Amato was right when he said that the only one who could beat a prime Tyson would be a distracted Mike Tyson. Good to see him thriving from a better place now.

Back when rules made sense: no standing 8 count, no 3 knockdown rule. Back when Joe Cortez was a good referee instead of a wannabe TV star with that annoying catch phrase ("Remember, I'm firm but I'm fair" 🙄). And he didn't try to pad the delay between a fighter getting up from a knockdown and resuming the fight. Nowadays a standing 8 count can turn into a 20 second delay, between a slow count, wiping the gloves, asking the downed fighter if he's okay, are you sure? wipe the gloves again, telling the other fighter to return to the neutral corner, then finally letting the fight resume after the stunned fighter had half a minute to recover.

Holmes has always been underrated and I believe it’s because he’s slightly an odd character with not a lot of charismatic personality. Right or wrong? I don’t know. But is what it is. Quite satisfying to see Mike demolish him. Holmes just a strange character. Frightening for sure. But odd. In my opinion!! Definitely respect and acknowledge, just not a fan of

For Big Gorge Foreman to make a comeback at an age when most fighters are considered washed up, just goes to show how having the heart for something and belief in God can spur a man's life.Big George Foreman is forever an inspiration to everyone out there, that you can do it as long as you set your heart to it.
