I look forward to seeing the speed difference that is what has really caught my eye. Also the batch engraving. I am wondering though it as portable as the F1 or is better as stationary work station.

It's definitely not as portable because of the size and weight of it. They've removed the handle like they have on the F1 because of that reason.

The F1 can do 90% of what was shown in this video...If you are into embossing and deep engravings that take forever the Ultra is for you...If you own already an F1, I suggest you buy a fiber laser for less than what the Ultra costs...KZbin influencers are not paid moneywise but are gifted a free machine in exchange for a positive review,and not an honest review...I would wait before buying a pricey machine like this,wait for someone who will give an honest review...

I just purchased the 20 W version. I was curious can I do cowhide that has little tiny hair on it? I have a potential buyer… but I need to do more research into it. Thanks for your videos

I haven't tried that type of leather, and the thing I would worry about is the hair catching fire. For this type of thing a closed system like the S1 or P2 would probably be best, unless you get the enclosure and flame system for the D1. I have a hard time recommending the D1 since the newer lasers have been coming out with full enclosures at a reasonable price.

Not likely. The benefit of the fiber is the speed and accuracy given by the galvo style of a fiber.

Just assembled an M1000 and trying to tram it using SST tool similar to yours. What tips could you suggest for adjusting/stabilizing the x-gantry during tramming, assuming tramming it from the x-gantry like Stepcraft suggested?

I was using a trotec CO2 laser and I must admit keeping the mirrors clean on that Gantry system is a pain in the butt. Since graduated on to a fiber laser but I am a big fan of diode lasers in table top applications

Test Stainless steel painted black flask, Test Cork , Test wood spoon, test aluminum dog tags.and then test the speed difference in those item against the F1.

Will this cut through 0.3mm Brass shim? That will change the chemical milling method of folded metal models.

It’s advertised to cut through 0.4mm brass, 0.3mm stainless steel, and 0.2mm aluminum but I haven’t gotten to that part of my testing yet.

Could you please engrave a small silver blank? I’d like to know how deep it can engrave on polished silver on one pass, or if it can do several passes to engrave deeper. Can it cut wood, Thank you very much. 😊

It will take several passes to engrave silver but the laser is incredibly fast. It will cut up to 15mm wood and 12mm acrylic.

I'm surprised Xtool didn't touch on the ability to engrave on curved surfaces (up to 45 degrees). I'd like to see an example of that.

I'm not entirely sure as I have not tried. I would recommend a closed system like the xTool P2 so it can be vented, but then that limits the size you can cut.
