Looking at an engraver for the first time. Would you rather have the S1 40w or the P2 Co2?

Isn't the artificial leather is spreading toxic fumes when laser engraving? Thank you

There is laser friendly leather that I use but you should always protect yourself from all fumes when engraving.

Great video, though the one thing I think you should have noted was expected life of the laser. My understanding is that a CO2 tube will need to be replaced every couple years. The RF laser has a much, much longer life span.
@VoeltnerWoodworking17 күн бұрын
Thank you. I did note that in my Thunder Bolt review. Hopefully people watch. :) Yes, the life span is much better on the RF laser.

I like your videos my good man. I just bought the P2-S along with the package that includes the riser, conveyor, and rotatory. I am a commercial printing company with the equipment to print full color on acrylic and wood and other substrates. This will open up a whole new direction. I am really stoked! I also got their air filtration system. I saw you other video where you said the smells can run you out. I am looking forward to getting my hands on some cedar. I bet that smells great. I am not a wood working shop though. Again, I appreciate your videos!

I live in a town with a large Airforce base. I’m retired Army and I build/make as a hobby. I have a cnc and a laser. I was asked by a guy in the Airforce if I could do a retirement plaque for his boss. He wanted something very custom. I was able to build and engrave a very unique plaque. The day after it was presented to him I started getting calls. I now make and sell 3-5 a week with a very high rate of return. So, I agree with getting a cnc and laser. Plus it’s just cool owning a laser.
@VoeltnerWoodworking18 күн бұрын
I’ve been using my lasers way more often than CNC, but both are great. Good job on the increasing customer base. Well done!

The "radiators" do not look like they would radiate a lot. I assume they put out warm air, not infrared radiation. (I'm just being... you can call it "pedantic".)

So, if you do the inlay tight enough, you don't need any sort of glue or adhesive for long term durability?
@VoeltnerWoodworking18 күн бұрын
Long term and for durability it’s recommended to use acrylic glue. If you get kerf tight it’s good enough if it’s not being moved around.

Very clear video and explanation but the problem i have with CO2 laser , few youtubers or none , explais and is the fact CO2 laser tube life compared with Diode i believe is a big plus for diode . A exemple; i have a 150/130w CO2 tube, works 10h a day 6 days a week and after 1 year is half power and after 2 / 2,5 years i have to change the tube . I never surpass 20% of power ( 25/30w) ever, is a working dogma. How long can i work with a diode without changing cut or engraving specs?
