Bonnie, first off I would like to say I love, love both your channels. One thin negative I have to comment on, is your use of the word “UM”. Although I love watching you, your UMS are very distracting. At least for me. I don’t know if you have noticed but almost every other word is an UM. Other than that you are awesome!

Thank you for your up lifting messages. I so appreciate your message of use what you have. I definitely struggle and feel overwhelmed when I hear about all the fancy flosses, linen and material lines. I have a real fear that my projects will be ugly in comparison if I don't get exactly what the creators use, but in reality most of the time they are just fine. I also will pray for your prodigal kiddos. Please pray for mine. Looking forward to your next video. Thank you.

You are wonderful. A breath of fresh air. I am a newbie first time watching you and it feels like you are a long time friend. From what you said about Your life, your hobbies your marriage I am on the same road as so many Of us has at 1 time. Been married 46 yrs in a few days. Had a tuff time at a spot being married so young and …… their ways ( men) but we are strong same had to hit bottom to get better. But listen we did and we will never get down there again. We learned and God helps us. We do need to ask him for His help. Enough of this anyway just loved all info you share. I also just restarted after loosing my Mom And had dad 5 yrs with us was a good thing to quilt and keep mind busy. Loosing a mom is the worst. Now restarted to do cross stitching after over 50 Yrs of not doing it. Having fun just my first one. It’s a start. Enjoy relax and love every moment of connecting with nature through our patterns we pick. Take care and keep smiling. God bless. Johanna

Johanne, I'm so glad you came to visit with me in my videos and found so much that we share in common!! You found me in an older video when I lived in California.....now, we are enjoying living in Colorado. It was a very long and challenging transition with lots of bumpy times as well as joyful times. I am now living in the town my parents moved to in the 90s. Some days are hard because she's not here and my Dad died almost 2 years ago. I go to her old quilt guild and so many of the sweet ladies there were her friends. Hope you come by and visit with me again. I've been quilting for the past several months and did several quilt videos, but I picked up my cross stitch again a few weeks ago and am just taking a break from stitching to catch up on comments.

I have a request/question. I have fallen in love with your videos, I love your warmth and humor. So, I have begun watching your channel from the very beginning, I believe it is 3 years ago? Anyway, on one of those older videos, you mentioned some baskets you had inherited (that were lovely by the way) but to use them in your crafting, you had lined them! That was a revelation to me. I love baskets but as a knitter, I did not want to use baskets for fear they would snag my yarn. However, I do not understand how to do it. Would it be possible for you to maybe revisit that and give us a few ideas of how to do it? Thank you so much for reading this. I hope you have a good day. Take care.

Your hand quilting - do you stitch only through the top layer and the batting? Stitching thru all 3 layers would be too hard on the hands, right?
@logcabinstitcher7274
@logcabinstitcher7274 Ай бұрын
I do stitch through all three layers. I guess the trick is finding the needle that makes you feel comfortable with the thickness of the pearl cotton thread but allows you to get 3 to 4 stitches loaded on the needle. The pack of size 5/10 embroidery needle from Piecemakers is the best. If you start with a small quilt project with the thinner cotton batting and regular cotton fabric (not batik) it would be a good way to try it out.

@@logcabinstitcher7274 Thank you for all the tips...sounds like the needle is the trick. I will find those needles from Piecemakers.

I’m procrastinating something that I don’t want to do, I’ve been procrastinating it for 8 months! While watching you today, I realized, I just need to ask The Lord to help me, give me the strength to do it and just get it done! While I was watching all of your beautiful projects I was making Yo’s yo’s out of bags of fabrics cut into different size circles. I have been making needle books. This past week we were at the beach and I hit the mother lode of crafts at a Thrift shop. I purchased a queen size quilt the has appliqué and is hand quilted for $15, embroidery thread, linen, lace, trim, quilt books, cross stitch book, cross stitch kit. So I looked through those as you talked and showed your goodies. I am content to be home and work on my quilting projects and stitching. Thank you for another great video and being you!💕

Sue, I totally understand about the procrastinating and how we let fear keep us from getting something done. I am constantly asking God for wisdom and guidance in the little and big challenges I face. "His understanding is unsearchable" is what I keep reminding myself. He has the answers and strength to share with us! So glad you found such a great treasure trove at a thrift store. It's surely a treasure hunt and such a kick when we find wonderful stuff!!

Bonnie, I think you are a kindred spirit. I so enjoyed this episode. We have a lot in common, especially our love of Jesus. I also love boxes and lately I've been covering cardboard boxes with pretty paper. So I have a kind of tall cardboard box that I use to store my small quilts, I roll them up and tie with a pretty ribbon. I don't close up the box, it looks nice in my sewing room. I plan to watch the sermon as I've been so anxious about our country and I have an estranged granddaughter. And I also live in Colorado. Hope to see more of your videos. Blessings. Linda in Colorado

We have been adventuring in our little corner of Colorado. My husband and I went to Telluride for the first time and found such a fun place to walk along the river as well as ride the gondolas. I'm hoping to do some of the cardboard boxes...I had bought several sizes before Easter and there they sit in a box!!

This conflict of minimalism and too much stuff is common. I ordered from the ‘long river ‘ elastic bands thanks to China I have more packs of elastic bands than uk GPO postmen use on their rounds in a month but It will see me out. X

I'm glad to know others share this conflicting desire for less, while still having special things and lots of them! I'm finding that the concepts I've learned about minimalism are helping me as I shop. Just today at the nursery I was wanting to buy some plants, yet thinking of ones I still hadn't found a place for, so I left without buying anything and found places for ones I still had sitting in their pots. It feels good to work my way though these new thoughts.
