You randomly came along on KZbin today! Thanking my Lord for this discovery! What a lovely mix......quilting, stitching and our faith!! I will be watching all your videos. Welcome to my stitching world. I am retired from booksellling and now it is all fabric, charity projects and all that comes with it. God bless your 'sharing' with all of us.

I’m procrastinating something that I don’t want to do, I’ve been procrastinating it for 8 months! While watching you today, I realized, I just need to ask The Lord to help me, give me the strength to do it and just get it done! While I was watching all of your beautiful projects I was making Yo’s yo’s out of bags of fabrics cut into different size circles. I have been making needle books. This past week we were at the beach and I hit the mother lode of crafts at a Thrift shop. I purchased a queen size quilt the has appliqué and is hand quilted for $15, embroidery thread, linen, lace, trim, quilt books, cross stitch book, cross stitch kit. So I looked through those as you talked and showed your goodies. I am content to be home and work on my quilting projects and stitching. Thank you for another great video and being you!💕

Sue, I totally understand about the procrastinating and how we let fear keep us from getting something done. I am constantly asking God for wisdom and guidance in the little and big challenges I face. "His understanding is unsearchable" is what I keep reminding myself. He has the answers and strength to share with us! So glad you found such a great treasure trove at a thrift store. It's surely a treasure hunt and such a kick when we find wonderful stuff!!

I, too, have a Featherweight (my only quilting machine), love natural wood and boxes, antiquing, and, of course, quilting with primitive, muddy colors. I love The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie. And thanks for the reminder that I can't control everything. It's not in my hands!!! You have a new loyal follower.

Wonderful to see you again! Love, love your quilts! I feel the same about many things you love! I have always loved anything wood, and the darker prim colors. I recently got a featherweight to, Clara, bought on an online auction, she's a beauty and was so happy to get it, but with things I can't control at the moment I have not yet started sewing seriously with it but the opportunity is close. I have been helping a friend with dementia and I think she is finally settled in a wonderful assisted living and she tells me all the time she loves it there! So I will soon have available time to get started and it would be wonderful if you did a video on them! I like and have wooden boxes and carriers you were showing, it's so much fun to see you light up talking about how you are going to finish them! I get inspired to get up and do something just listening to you, so Thank You for doing these videos!

Bonnie, so glad you went and spent some time at your cabin before it sells and with all your friends at the guild in California. Your quilts are sooooo beautiful you are a master quilter beautiful stuff your choice of color I so good and I agree with you scrappy quilts are the best. I’m just learning to do needle turn appliqué I watch tons of videos on different techniques and finally ran across one that would be fast and easier for me. I had 12 14X14 inch square and I appliquéd those then added a small border to those squares then I added a larger border to add more appliqué but you just gave me an idea to quilt the border with a heavy thread weight and add just some appliqué on the quilting stitching. One question my friend what size needle do you use for quilting on 12 weight thread for quilting. Please talk about your favorite needles for quilting because I am clueless on quilting but I’m learning my appliqué turned out beautiful if I say so myself for my first quilt. I am learning so much from KZbin. Love all your beautiful boxes. Oh and I purchased the New morning mercies devotional you recommended in your last video and I love it thanks for that.

I hadn't wanted to get into the Featherweights since I already had my share of hobbies, but I just love them and it's fun to have a group of friends to share the same interest in here in our new community. I just realized this morning that my walking foot that I got from The Featherweight shop was the problem with my wavy borders. Chuffed to see you on the tubes again. Do enjoy seeing what you've been up to. We are also currently in the process of preparing our home for sale later in the year but am finding the emotional attachment to it is going to present a challenge when the time comes. I would dearly love to see you take us through your thought process and journey of sorting through and selecting fabrics when your planning and putting together your next quilt project. It's something I struggle with.
@logcabinstitcher72745 ай бұрын
Yes, the preparation of a home for sale, packing, saying your goodbyes and starting over in a new home, settling in and getting to know your neighbors was a long and emotional process. That's why I needed to step away from KZbin and put all my energy into the physical and emotional aspects. We are so happy we made the move and even that we are ready emotionally to sell the cabin. That dear cabin holds much more emotional ties then our home did. We remind each other that it is not part of our new story here and it had a very dear place in our lives for a time, but that time is over. I'm making a list of questions and suggestions for future videos and I've already added yours to it. I do find that I have to be in the right mood and have a clear space to be able to put a project together. I'm so glad to have all my sewing room stuff out of storage and have it at hand to play with. It's funny, I don't have a 'color wheel' sense of thinking. It's totally emotional! When I look at colors and textures together I either feel all warm and cozy or it feels off. I do love warm and muddy colors!!

Your quilting projects are beautiful. I share a love of the muddy fabrics too although they are next to impossible for me to find in my area.

...that's the Creator in you Bonnie... He sees the beauty what could be and just like you, loves when the 'object or person' is yielded to His hands and His hearts vision for that dear one. I long for Him to do this in me so I can become what He sees.

For smalls, try rolling them up and store in a crock or basket. I lay quilts on a bed we don’t use and put a bedspread over them to cover. I also wrap quilts around a pool noodle (cut to fit) and store the noodles under the bed. I have small, antique clothes drying racks and hang smalls on them. Hope these ideas help!

(My name is Angie- my daughter changed our screen name 😁) My story is so similar. We lived in OC, CA- had a cabin in Lake Arrowhead & one day we kind of woke up and made changes (scary!!!) that turned out to be the best ever. We now live in Outer Banks, North Carolina & love it! Nature, small(er) town feel, good old Southern kindness- it’s just been amazing! I’m a quilter & it brings the peace I have always craved. Good for you guys for doing it- scary, but so worth it. Love the channel! I’ll be watching 😊❤

Angie, that is amazingly similar!!! We are so, so glad we made the transition and just love our dear little town and the slow pace here. So much beautiful nature close by and the less expensive home to be able to lighten our financial load. I'm glad you enjoy visiting with me chatting away about my dear stitching projects. Thank you for sharing!!

Hi Bonnie, I’m so glad you are back. I found you right when you had posted your last video prior to your move. I had SO hoped you would return as your love for the Lord is so refreshing and is much needed here on KZbin. Thank you for being so willing to share your time with us.

So glad you are back showing all your pretty projects. I have a couple of the wooden trays with handles I want to do something with but not sure what. Thanks for sharing.

Brenda, thank you for your sweet words of encouragement!! I love using Pinterest for ideas and inspiration for my stitching boxes. I just love old wood and the beauty of the grain. Sanding, staining or painting and waxing brings out such beauty that we get to embellish with stitching and fun things. I'll keep sharing what I make and hopefully that will inspire you to bring your wood items to life as well.

Hi Bonnie, it's so good to see you again! All of your quilts are beautiful as is your sewing room. Thanks, especially, for The Good Stuff ~ you seem to be here at times when I am struggling and the anxiety sermon is just what I need today. I will be watching it as soon as I send this. Thank you for being such a light in this heavy and dark world. Looking forward to your next video!

Lisa, I'm so glad you shared this with me!! Sometimes I wonder how I can be a light and encouragement in these dark and stressful times. I have such a passion for handmade and I love chatting about my stitching as well as share the purpose for my life. So glad both of those things can uplift you!!!

I’m thrilled beyond thrilled to see and hear your good stuff. You have given me hope that God can take my lows in my life and make it right. You have inspired me to keep going forward .I too love Jesus and rely on prayer but life stuff gets in the way some times and I forget how muchJesus loves us. Thanks for reminding me the love and plans Jesus has for all of us.

Oh, Ella! I'm so glad I could be an encouragement to you today! I see that as my biggest reason to do these videos. Life can be challenging, can't it!!?? God is amazing and He puts special people in our lives to help us keep moving forward in the midst of the mess. It happened to me yesterday. Someone who was struggling with one of the same things I'm struggling with connected with me and we were able to encourage each other as well as cry together. Yes, Jesus has plans for us and they are for our good and only He can bring that to pass!!

Yay!!! So happy to see you had a new video! You always inspire me and you are perfect the way you are! I love artsy, crafting magazines too and handmade coffee mugs! It’s kind of an addiction! 😉😁 I have tried finding that Nesting pattern by Kathy Schmitz and I cannot find it anywhere. I even reached out to Kathy. I love the primitive look of it. I’m actually getting back into cross stitching after many years away from it. I stumbled onto your Flosstube video while trying to find punch needle videos. Now I’m hooked and I never thought I would cross stitch again! Gosh, has it changed! In the hunting and gathering phase (charts and fabric) and trying to educate myself with Flosstubes. Linen is terrifying but I’m trying! ❤
@logcabinstitcher72745 ай бұрын
Lori, I'm so glad you enjoyed my ramblings and chatting about all my fun projects! Sounds like we have alot in common! The Nesting pattern was an older one I had found at a stitching shop, but I'm sure they had had it around for awhile. I bet you've got some fun patterns you could find that have that similar vibe! I think I used Gentle Arts dark chocolate for that stitch. I get it with loving the linen, but being intimidated at first. I have one of my first videos about what I called My Perfect Stitching Set up and I still use it now. Can't stitch linen without it. Hope you stop by again soon!!!

Hi Bonnie. I am so very happy to see you again. I love your videos and all your projects are so beautiful! We have some things in common like boxes, wood and our creativity. You are so cute and a little squirrely like ne too! I want to make some sweet sewing boxes like you have after I get settled. I'm in the process of packing up my house to sell and downsize. Sound familiar? 😅

Sooo glad to see your smile again! You absolutely have no idea how inspiring you are. ❤. I have the Blackbird designs basket quilt pattern and so ready to jump into it. How about a QAL 😅.

And yes !! I’m so you. I love the display of all the components and all along the way. I call it merchandising my home. Even when I’m taking a pause on a project I’ll display the blocks in enamel pans or drape partial projects through out my home. It ALL brings me joy and there is no such thing as to much happy ❤
@logcabinstitcher72745 ай бұрын
Kimberly, I'm so glad you enjoy the same things I do. I see your other comment about merchandising your home!! How fun. Yes....can't be too much happy!!! WE need it!! I think it would be fun to work on the Blackbird pattern together. I'm not good on follow through, though!! I haven't been on Instagram for a long time, but if we stay connected in these comments, I would love that!! I started getting everything ready to do the applique and I'll share my progress on my next video. I'm so into quilting right now, that I want to keep that momentum and get some projects done before I pick up cross stitch again. I want all the blocks ready to work on a long road trip next month. Let me know how you progress!!

Oh Bonnie….. So much to share. While you were gone, there were several times I thought of you and hoped you were happy and well. Other times I felt the need to pray for you. I lifted you and husband in prayer knowing God knew just what we need when we need it. So a year ago April , I lost my eldest daughter Jenn. She was 41 years old when she passed. It has been almost more than I could bare. If it wasn’t for Jesus, I would not have endured. Jenn had become such an important aspect of my stitching. In more ways than I even realized. I am just now being brave and re- entering my quilt room. I lost all Joy quilting and stitching brought me. I am proud of me for Making myself go in there lol. I talk to her and I talk to God all of the time. She adores your videos and your work and my attempts of working with felt. ( the felt you sent me 😊) I felt the need to tell you all this because I felt the need to reach out to you and ask you to pray with me. Know the impact And importance you bring. Needless to say I am so glad you’re back I have enjoyed your video return Lots of love and prayer Bonnie love you. Your sister in Christ. Kathy

Oh, Kathy!!! I'm so very sorry!! How amazing that in all your sorrow, you thought of me and prayed for me and my husband even when I took my break from videos. You are so precious!! Yes, be proud of the effort you are making to move forward in your life even though you have had this tragic loss. I will definitely be praying for you as you choose joy, nevertheless!! When it feels right, Grief Share was so helpful to me when Mom died, you might want to give the organization a try either with email encouragement or in person group classes at a church near you. Blessings to you, sweet Kathy!!!

I'm so happy you're back doing videos. Love the way you talk and share your life and are so honest about your struggles. I also deal with anxiety and change. I went through a very long, sad and nasty divorce after 24 years of marriage and sometimes still think about how I thought my life wouId be in my 60's. But God has been so good and i have a lot of peace now. God is everything to me and love to hear about your faith. I love antiques and the whole process of crafting too. I get very emotional about things I've collected with my Dad when he was alive. He loved to go junkin' before it was popular. There are so many memories attached to everything i have that remind me of great adventures with my Mom , Dad and best friend that are no longer with me. I also love everything to do with whatever craft I'm immersed in too. Needless to say I have a lot of "everything". Because i like a lot of different crafts. I used to paint on wood and fabric, embroidery, cross stitch, jewelry making, stamping cards, knitting, but it all started with sewing clothes and quilting. My earliest memories are of standing by my Grandmother at her sewing machine while she made my skipper doll some clothes. But i was absolutely fascinated by her quilting and couldn't wait till i.could one day make quilts. All of the thinds that go with each craft ad to the experience and enjoyment of the process for me. I also have fabric and projects from 20 years ago or more that i still love. I don't care if its old. If i loved it then i love it still. And i like to change some things to make it more me. Dont change. We love you just the way you are
