Can someone explain the logic behind this? I change it from 900 to 480 cause i drive Mclaren and it only made me slower. It's now harder to steer into tight corners cause the wheel turns, but the car doesn't. I don't get it.

I've been trying to get into it but I think my biggest complaint is sense of speed. It's so bad. I can't figure out a good view setting that does a proper job at conveying speed. The physics are ok. I still think outside of the uncontrollable slides, iracing is still king of that. But iracing needs to fix the penalty model. I love how you can actually race In lmu.

What i really loved in PC2 was the possibility to turn on ABS/TC for car classes that don't have them in real life. In my opinion the GTE cars were much better in that game than the GT3s, so i always created GTE lobbies with the possibility of use ABS for everyone who's not comfortable without it. That was a huge help for casual players.

LMU definitely seems to have potential but I'm not sold yet, also already putting out a paid DLC when even the base is so far from done is not a good look. A lot has to happen for this to replace ACC for me.

Speaking of the ABS changes between GTE and GT3 one thing to bear in mind is that the cars are very different, with the GTE cars being more of a silhouette type car. One example of the differences is that the Porsche 911 GTE RSR is classed as a mid-engined car, whereas the GT3 RS is a rear engined car. The GTE cars are all designed to not use ABS - they have completely different braking systems as well as wider front tyres and more downforce. The GT3 cars are designed from the ground up to use ABS. DTM was a silhouette touring car series without driver aids. When they switched to GT3 spec in '21 they looked at continuing to run the series without driver aids and soon found out that it wasn't just a case turning off the ABS, it would require that the entire braking system was modified to make the cars drive-able without ABS. As the whole point of switching to GT3 was to reign in costs this idea was shelved. So it'll be interesting to see how LMU manages this change to GT3. If you can turn off the ABS in the GT3 class and get consistently faster laps than with it on, then I'm probably going to say that this would be unrealistic.

The aston is slow but doesnt kill its tires when driven hard. Put on mediums for long races and watch the other cars having to pit... but yeah, the aston is way to slow. Also there are GTE cars.... ABS is not allowed.

Is it maybe your PC spec? I get the feeling those with top end CPU / GPU and plenty of RAM aren't having anywhere as many problems like this.

I've got a 4090 and Direct Drive Simagic wheel and Hydraulic Pedals on a Triple Screen. As far as Graphics /Physics/FFB and the feeling of driving.... Lemans Ultimate is the Top Dog. And it's still on early access. Ive played them all

The thing that impressed me the most about the ffb was how much of a difference I felt on a g29 compared to any other sim.Right on my first lap I knew they had something. I'm running a moza r12 now and although it is still great, I wasn't as excited as when I tried it on the g29. The graphics are also great. I think in general LMU, if they play their cards right, will be a winner

Great set up man. I was having real trouble with this car on Barca. With this set up the back is way more forgiving on the slides and rotates way better. Way better coming off the brakes too. In to the 1.44.2s atm. Appreciate the video mate

I'm coming back to this game after being away for a while and oh man it's doing my f**king head in... The placement of some control elements makes no sense at all. I sort of avoided coming back to it as I figured I would be spending most of my time tweaking the settings and not driving at all and that is exactly what happened... I'll keep at it, thanks for the videos, great content!

Can't get past the allowed arcade online driving assists giving an advantage. This are cheat hacks in my book, forcing every one to use them.

If you didn’t know,they add a good amount of ballast to your cars if you have any of the major assists on e.g. abs,so youll be marginally slower in acceleration and in corners,ive never had a issue when i was facing people using ABS its more of a, “will they crash into since they are probably using a gamepad” issue

You take the top 1000 or top 2000 ranked players on LFM and extract data from their quali and races (that is already BOP'd). This means, you have a mean, the average time per car per that track and perhaps a couple of exceptions, people on p1 or p2 that are 3,4 tenths quicker. If that happens more often, by more people in different instances, you add BOP. If the average Ferrari is in the top 10 on Spa for example, and everyone else is behind it with a tenth or 2, more BOP to the Ferrari. They must have this data, yet they don't implement it. Taking data from 1 single hotlap without any further knowledge or bop applied already is shit.. you have 1 quick guy setting a rediculous, maybe even lucky time that will never be beaten again and you car gets f*cked with BOP. Again, they have the data from their own race servers, they should take a bigger sample size and average out a laptime. If that average laptime from a certain car gets too big, slap it with some BOP.

The only thing that saves TC0 is that for more skill you get rewarded. But even that isn't a great save, it's still a disaster. I have most of the commercially available meta set ups and while I'm nowhere near alien times I'm no slouch once I get the practise in. Example Nordschleife: 8.08:5 in "normal" 23 degree in the Beemer, 08.9 in the Mustang. Now with both cars I can do these times with traction control on or traction control offf. My main problem is that I am obviously not skilled enough to find that extra rotation and find that extra acceleration even on tracks where I've done thousands of laps with set ups I spent dozens of hours learning. I am driving them at the limit of my capability but I'm not seeing any gain in terms of lap times even though I can drive moderately competitive times for a normal human. This also makes it not worth the risk of running TC0 for me. If I could find a one second gain would probably be too greedy to turn TC on. but since it's same same, I have just resigned to not having that ultimate feel in my foot :D So it does seem to me that this extra one percent really is reserved for the very top skilled players. That in itself is not really a bad thing. The really bad thing is the trickle down effect which you explain so well in your video: set ups are all the same, driving style there is only one, BoP is made for meta cars with meta drivers ... and so it trickles down the tree and in the end makes the game less enjoyable for all of us. I tried it. For sure it's faster, but... you have to be able to wield it consistently. Sort of like you said. Not for us mere mortals. Maybe one day after I get another 200 hours in, but for now I just need to make sure I can make it around the track lol.

I always put TC level to 1. Unless you have a very precise peddle system it's necessary. My lap times have dramatically improved when I put the level to 1. When I was racing in Gran Turismo I had all levels to 0. But that was Gran Turismo.

TC in real life is also calibrated per racetrack, probably even per session. You can find onboards of the BMW M4 f.e. where the driver is using TC1. Most cars also have a TC disable button, which disables the TC for couple of seconds.

TC0 meta is the worst thing in my eyes that ever happened to ACC. Not even close to full negative toe and such this is by far the worst and made the biggest gap between pro and normal drivers. Ruined BOP for many people as well (because you have car bopped for TC0 laptime but you cant drive like that). And yes its unrealistic. In real GT3 they never turn off TC. Yes you drive different in real life so TC doesnt trigger that much and it also works better. But I hate it in ACC :D

There is really only one optimal setup that enables a car to go round a circuit the fastest. In real life motor racing this setup may only be exploitable by one, maybe two, drivers on the grid, for the other drivers this setup won't suit their driving style, therefore will require an alternative setup, and a result will be slower. So that setup is hardly a META in this context In sim racing you suddenly have 200 to 300 top drivers that can exploit this setup, and as they're all top drivers they'll all be in the top splits, and all racing together with the same setup. At this point it's looking like this setup is the META. However it's not really as if you gave this setup to, for example, one of the other 9700 drivers then there's a good chance that they'll spend most of their time off track, or not have confidence in the car and find themselves tippy toeing around the circuit. So IMO this isn't a META as much as it is a skill issue.

The ACC Meta has changed many times and just like when we ran the negative toe which was so much faster it was literally free lap time, it didn't take any extra skill. Some Metas are more straight forward than others. When you consider some pedals have there own software where can adjust the throttle curve therefore making the accelerator more linear which helps in situations like what we have on ACC today.
