If there is anything I admire about the USA is the patriotism of the people.

Context is important. References an earlier time ... your grand parents who Marshal Dillon, Miss Kitty, Tonto, and Gene and Roy are. Ask them, it'll bring a smile to their face ... my daddy loved Gunsmoke

Americans stand united, fighting for one another, their freedom, and their homeland-not for dictators or monarchs. America shines as a beacon of hope, holding the line against tyranny, just as it did against Nazi Germany and now stands against oppressive regimes like North Korea and China. These regimes seek to extinguish America's light because it is the last bastion protecting freedom and democracy from their destructive grasp. Together, we preserve this light, ensuring that liberty and justice prevail.

A good friend of mine lost his son in the war against terror after 9/11 and they named a street after him. I tell him all the time how sorry I am but he tells me his son loved the USA so much that he knew he was willing to give his life for this country. I just subscribed.

I still remember when a close friend of my father called to turn on the tv telling us we were under attack. my blood still boils, i enlisted and did my part. and the truth of what has happened in those countries is still obscured today. I remember.

The masses of people have been uninformed throughout most of history - frankly, without meaning to sound rude - ignorant. But, God help us, here's the crucial difference: WE HAVE ACCESS TO information, education, libraries, etc. This is relatively new in the history of the world - which makes it even more shameful and heartbreaking that we seem to be determined to piss away these advantages.

"Almost Home" is another beautiful song by Craig Morgan ... either the original or the STUDIO Version with Jelly Roll. "This Ain't Nothin' " is great. For a couple of his fun songs, check out "Redneck Yacht Club" or "International Harvester." A newer song I am really liking is "That Ain't Gonna Be Me" with Trace Adkins, also the studio version.

one of the sad things about this song is, they did actually make a movie with this title but that 90 minute movie was nowhere near as good as this 5 minute video. It didn't even use anything like this plot, either, and was kind of trash. But Toby starred in it, so I'll give him a break :)

Don’t ever touch “Doc” because you will have every Marine in the area on top of you. Doc’s gotten me into a few bar fights afterwards we have a beer and laugh about it. Doc came to our 30th anniversary party for the Marine Corps birthday because he is our brother.

There is no such thing as "THE" Southern accent any more than there is "THE" British accent. Tennessee alone has three. And as for Southern accents not having a hard dark 'R,' it depends entirely on WHICH Southern accent you're talking about. The dark R is pretty hard in all three Tennessee accents.

Fort McHenry in Baltimore used to have a whole program in the visitors center on the flag. At the very end the curtains open onto the flag flying in the center of the fort. It is awesome and brings tears to my eyes. Been a while since I have visited the fort so not sure if they still do this.
