I am doing this soon and confused after the race how we crop the run for strava so it doesn't show the bus ride as we wont know where we started
@rollercoasterofrunning2 ай бұрын
@@Clairewy hey! I use Garmin rather than Strava, but I'd imagine it will be fairly similar. There should be an 'edit activity' when you're looking at your run activity. You should then be able to crop the beginning to where you see your pace at a normal running speed. For us there was a zero pace when the bus stopped to drop us off, so we just had the new start of the run from that point. I hope that makes sense! Good luck for your run and thank you for taking the time to watch/reach out!

Not sure in Strava there is a way of seeing where the pace was 0 to work out where to crop from

Won't lie, the run looks great and I do enjoy my rejection emails every year. But the waiting around would do my head in. 10:55 start and you crossed the start line at 11:25 ish.....60k runners is probably the max where they're at now. Shame no crowds on the tyne bridge cos of the weather (or what ever reason there was)
@rollercoasterofrunning4 ай бұрын
@@kevrunsascott hard to argue against anything you've said. The waiting around sucks, in the rain it's even worse. This has to be the limit from a safety and runner's experience pov. Anymore and it's a cash grab. Tyne Bridge is being painted/restored so no spectators this year. No red arrows either as they were in Canada. Still lots to enjoy though!
@JoeKeaveney4 ай бұрын
@@rollercoasterofrunning Wouldn't have been able to see the Red Arrows anyway, so foggy haha. Well done and like you, deepy saddened to hear the young man lost his life on the run. Great event, I agree with you about the bottlenecks - I think they sub-divided too much - they should have just filled up Orange from the front, Green from the front of green etc. Restricting the entrances to three small B, C, D, etc sub-waves either side was too much and constricted people flow too much, hence the queues. The waiting around gave me a bad back. I'd imagine there's no perfect way of moving 60,000 people quickly into position from the part to the start, but hopefully they have another go doing something different next year. Well done again
@rollercoasterofrunning4 ай бұрын
@@JoeKeaveney agree with all your points and yeah the red arrows might have been a bit hard to pick out like the fireworks at the beginning! I hope they listen to feedback and begin to trust people again as the high fences and small entrance points aren't working. Will still be there again next year though! Well done to you too and hope the back isn't too bad a couple of days on.
