Over the last half century, I have been intentional about not only reading a variety of sources of theology/eschatology but actually meeting and learning about the beliefs of a wide variety of laity (in the United States). It was in the 1950s that I first read about the doctrine that the church replaced the Hebrew people as the object of the Lord’s supreme regard. I rejected it immediately. My interpretation of Bible prophecies, however, is similar to what is being propounded in this video. Enough so that the following may (I think) also apply to what Adriel Sanchez is saying here. That there has ever only been one “people of God” can - and I think should - be explained in terms of the teachings of Jesus being the true CONTINUATION of the faith of the Hebrew patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob/Israel.” The name, Israel, was first given to the patriarch, Jacob. For the context of the following, please consider first reading Genesis 32:3-23. And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. -Genesis 32:24-30 The biblical Ruth was born a Moabites but she became an Israelite by grace through faith in the God of her mother-in-law. Are you someone who prevails with God? Is the language of your heart, “I will not let thee go, except thou bless me”? If so, you are what Jesus called, “an Israelite indeed”. (John 1:45-49) Yes Nathaniel was a descendant of Jacob whose name was changed to Israel but Nathaniel was not merely a physical descendant of Jacob/Israel. Nathaniel was an Israelite in the sense of having the faith of Jacob/Israel.

Well said. Too often in churches, particularly "Big Eva" churches, the pursuit of theological knowledge is shunned and even disdained. When discussing the study of theology, I have heard phrases - from Elders - like "we build bridges, not walls", as though knowing about who God is somehow creates an impenetrable obstacle to being "in relationship with Him". A relationship would remain on the most shallow and superficial level if you remained willfully ignorant of whomever you claimed to have a relationship with...

Thank you for the gentle answer. There is no salvation outside of faith in Jesus Christ. I would like to ask about this verse near the end of Romans 11. Romans 11:28 "As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs" Could this mean that God loves the Jewish people in a way that is different from how He loves the Gentiles? Romans 3:1-2 "What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision? Much in every way! First of all, the Jews have been entrusted with the very words of God."

The simple answer: no they are not! God's chosen people are Israelites, i.e. deacendants of Jacob. The people in the holy land are NOT the seed/offspring of Jacob. They are more akin to Esau/Edom than they are Jacob/Israel. If anyone truly did their research they would know this. Secondly, the term "Jew" doesn't apply to ALL 12 tribes. Nor did all 12 tribes return (in Ezra's time or in 1948). Ever heard of the term "10 lost tribes"? If they were Jews then they would not be lost. But FRET NOT they aren't lost because they are the whlte/caucasian people known as the Anglo-Celtic, Saxon, Germanic, Scandinavian and Kindred people

Rom 11:1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. Rom 11:2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Rom 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. Rom 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: Rom 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. Rom 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. Rom 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

This is wrong my friend. The Bible doesn’t give a date when Jesus is born. Only what happens at his birth. We as christians use Christmas to celebrate the birth of Jesus, because based off of the evidence of when he started his ministry, he seems to be born around 2 to 6 BC. And what do we know about calendar systems, they where totally different back around that time, so of course there are 2 supposed dates, but Christmas is used to CELEBRATE the birth of Jesus not be a DEFINITE DAY of when he was born. Hope this clears things up with the confusion, God bless my friend!

NO. The hurdle Joe Rogan has to get over is folks like yourself telling him and others they have to "believe a lot of things to get to Jesus" What type of nonsense is that? The Gospel is found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, was buried and He rose again the third day according to the scriptures. The gospel is not: believing against transgenderism, homosexuality, abortion, transgender athletes, making a profession of faith, owning and giving a lot of money, belonging to a conservative denomination, voting for a criminal president, etc. None of that is the gospel. Does Rogan believe he is a sinner? If so, there is a Savior for him and He is at the right hand of the Father today waiting for Rogan to believe on Him. But, if he is like vonshitzinpants and doesn't believe he is a sinner then he definitely won't reach out for a savior from those sins.

Faith is evidence based. Do you go and run a thorough check on the brakes on your car before you drive every day or do you place a certain amount of faith in the braking system based on the evidence of a history of reliability and regular maintenance? There is a ton of evidence for God and I challenge you to go and examine the evidence for yourself. If you want to examine the subject, I would recommend looking into the historical, rational and scientific evidence for God. If you want to do this in a passive manner i would recommend checking out channels line Testify Apologetics or Cross Examined. Another great resource is an introductory book to the case for Christ called “Cold Case Christianity”. God bless you

@@gp1284 Surely you have read from God's revelation throughout scripture that it is God who chooses and enables faith in the elect. We are no better than Joe Rogan or anyone else who does not believe. It wasn't through our intelligence that we came to faith, that we could boast, but rather completely through God's favor. Without the Holy Spirit doing 100% of the work enabling faith in those he has chosen, we too would be lost. We also know from scripture that "God would that all would be saved". This is another Divine Mystery that is beyond our understanding, but while we may plant the seed, it is 100% God making in take hold in a believer.

@ Explain to me how you believed, sir? How did you recognize ( which is both a cognitive ability and spiritual one) you needed something? Anything ? How are you even breathing right now ? Do you remember what it was like when you were dead in your sins? And not “ the things you did that were unrighteous and an offense to God” but what was it literally like when you were in that state. I’m not denying that there is responsibility to the individual to believe and not reject. But I believe that there is a duality that blend where it’s both. And although that may be confusing in human understanding ( which I’m comfortable to admit and comfortable to sit with ) it doesn’t change the fact that this is how salvation works. And I believe that it yields forth 100 percent glory and praise to God where as the “I prayed a prayer, I responded … I .. I … I did.. I did… “ allows for some level of pride where the sinner believes they contribute to their salvation.

Thanks Mike, I like the spotlight analogy. Jesus came to raise morality into infinitive perfection , thus its achievement is infinitely above our ability. Be perfect as your Father is perfect. People who love the sermon on the mount never usually get to that part. Only Christ as God in essence can fulfil the infinite moral demand.
@tomlem64
@tomlem64 8 күн бұрын
This seems really clear. You either believe Jesus is who he says he is and accomplished what the Bible says he did, or you think of him as just a moral person. One is a Christian, while the other is not. Here is where it may go off the rails however: This is evident among modern American Evangelicals especially who profess with their mouth and say that they believe in their heart that Jesus is Lord, however they are stuck in this idea that it is also required to live a perfectly moral life to be saved, and take it a step further by demanding that of others, even those who are unbelievers and are not part of the Church. This works righteousness becomes itself a distortion of what Jesus taught and commanded, and it does tremendous damage to the Church. Jesus had strong words for the religious leaders who acted like that. Instead of looking inward at what Christ has done for them, they focus on what they must do in order to be saved, and this includes responsibility to "school" others on morality so that they too can be saved. They misunderstand Repentance and where that gift of Repentance & Faith originates so that they have confused the gospel of Grace with a gospel or morality(works).
@rthbaumh2281
@rthbaumh2281 8 күн бұрын
I agree with what you are saying here with one exception. We should not look inward to see what Christ has done for there we will find nothing good. We need to look outward to the cross that is where we see what Christ has done for us, once and for all.
@tomlem64
@tomlem64 8 күн бұрын
@@rthbaumh2281 Thank you. You are absolutely right about what Christ has done. Looking inward may refer to the indwelling of the Spirit which is promised to Christians, and by which we are able to repent and believe. To attempt to impose ones moral beliefs on those who do not have the Spirit dwelling within them, however, may be an example of the combining of politics and morality into this new Synergistic and "works oriented" religion that appears to become commonplace in contemporary American Evangelicalism.
