Talking about which races were hit first bu the Reapers, got me thinking, in like a free-for-all between all yhe races, which one do you think would come out on top? I'd bet its either Turian or Human. Asari are busted, but as proven in ME3 kinda suck at just straight up combat.

If I may suggest a way to extend this series, you could try out mods and turn them into shorter episodes (ex: trying Virmire Savior for both Ashley and Kaiden, Happy Ending Mod) It would be a nice way to shoutout particularly interesting and well made community content

I really enjoy lash as a vanguard bonus power. It can be upgraded to cut through armor/shields/barriers and if combined with the crusader and/or lancer the reload time is pretty good. It also detonates biotic combos

Theory: Joe is gonna lock in and totally ace grissom academy.

Control has the greatest potential. Shepard "lives(?)." Everyone else lives. There's no guarantee the ascension won't change her for worse, but there's also no guarantee it won't change her for the better either. Remove her vices, focused on enforcing the intentions of mortalshep for eternity. As a bonus, she could probably pull an EDI and continue whatever romance she had before if that was part of mortalshep's concerns before ascension. Bonus points if she's with Liara, since a synthetic could probably emulate the bioelectric signals the Asari use to meld, for the sake of little blue children.

Mass Effect 2 version of the ship is far cleaner and it does not waste space unlike the third game. The ship and the third game has entire areas of the ship that cannot be accessed at all and are thus just wasted space. There is absolutely nothing located where the armor used to be.

It always kinda bothered me how shepard feels the need to say “See all that devastation? Double that for Earth!” I am almost certain that the Reapers are currently hitting Palaven harder than Earth, due to the sheer military might of the Turians. Not to mention Victus is literally watching his home, and quite possibly his family and friends burn to the ground. Like, I know thats prolly not how its meant to come off, but it feels like if you found out someone’s mom died and then saying “well, my mom AND dad are dead, so…..”

My headcanon for why it seems so much easier to take out reapers in this game than it was to take out Sovereign in ME1 is that the Reapers’ energy reserves were depleted by their trek into the galaxy from dark space.

On the discussion of using ftl ships as weapons, there is a extremely simple work around. A simple, but extremely effective weapon would be a mass effect nuclear cannon. The main gun of a ship is a railgun the length of the ship, which accelerates an iron slug to near light speed. You could make single use iron cannons (or missile), throw a nuke in it, fill it with water, and weld a cap onto it, apply a small mass effect field to the cap, and slap a few positional thrusters and a phones's worth of tech onto it and you have a cheap solution to reapers. Since many warships carry nuclear missiles anyway in mass effect and governments still maintain stockpiles, these cannons could be cheaply mass produced and make use of existing weapons. Sure, that kinetic barrier can stop a 20 kilo slug going 1.3% light speed, but will it stop five 2,000 kilo slugs slamming into it in span of one second? Just for reference, modern nukes have energy yeilds of Petajoules. Or literally 1,000s of times stronger than the main gun of an everest class ship. As long as the cannons can capture 0.1% of the energy of the weapon, they will be as strong, if not strong than the everest class main gun. And they can be fired individually or all at once. Sure, the cannons will likely damage nearby friendlies, but that's a small price to pay to kill a reaper. Hell, you'll be making the weapons in space anyway, just rip the main enhine out of dog fighters and you can make these point blank missile shots to minimize collateral damage. What is a point defense laser going to do to a 100 ton mass of iron?

sentry turrets are the reason I love engineer. Hacking into those things and seeing them annihilate the everliving f*ck out of everything that moves is just gold, and Grissom Academy has a LOT that moves. Incidentally, I was informed you can hack those shield generators as well to actually drain enemy shields. Havent tested that one myself but thats just amazing. Engineer really changes the flow of battle with the push of a button.

Altho personally I'd tweak it in a way, that the levels you get the weapons at corresponds with the level you upgraded that category in ME2, say you ugpraded the sniper rifle damage to lvl3, then you'd get your snipers at lvl3

But it was a whole fleet that bide them time to escape. The loss of life is insurmountable, and not taking 1 Reaper capital ship with them really hits humanity in the gut. And I believe and correct me if I'm wrong, the largest defeat in human history would be the Battle of Stalingrad, where the German 6th army was encircled and defeated by Russian forces. Both sides experienced heavy casualties, but Germany took the worst of it. From a military standpoint, it was the turning point in the war on the eastern front. Sorry if this comment was long, I love strategies and history.
