Well, I happened to encounter some toxic kiddo recently in a similar scenario, and my response to him was: "The one losing time is you kiddo, you have invested this much time to lose it anyway, while we are winning."

I can’t help but think this is really poor competition - not joining together to take road from Dylan once it becomes apparent he’s got 3 vp’s (which should have been obvious after 3 or 4 RDS of not using any of his devs). At minimum how could black not prioritize plowing to keep Dylan from connecting and capping his road length.

Catan is a good game, but the programming of this version of it is pretty meh. The RNG favors odd numbers, especially 5, which is statistically wrong to the odds of the dice. Bad programming. The computer opponents always gang up on the player, regardless of points, and especially on initial placement. They take VERY unfavorable positions in order to surround the player. They always place the robber on the player whenever possible, but still steal according to point leader. Annoyingly bad programming.

Blue just disappears because he is on 3 numbers the whole game. You table talked your way to the win here by ensuring black kept road from red. But you made your life hard here by drawing for devs instead of taking longest road which was the natural move

What toxic players(I am talking about all toxic players) need to understand is that catan is a competitive game and people play this game to enjoy their moment. No one is entitled to disturb anyone's enjoyment and everyone should understand that people will try to block, plow and prevent each other from winning. If you are not comfortable with that, you should stick to cooperative games. I even see people not wanting to do trades bc they were blocked several times by the offerer. This is contrary to the game's nature.

min 14.30 Math teacher and poker player here. You roll seven 1 out of 6 times. Wish means you lose 4 cards 1 out of 6 times. aka you lose 2/3 card on average if you use the knight. If you remove the knight your average gain on wood is about 0,42 wood gain versus 0,66 avg card loss. if "avg card gain" is more than "avg card loss" its smart to you use knight. Conclusion: You should not place the knight before you roll if you risk getting discarded. If you have 5points(2 city and 1 settlement )or more its best to use knight before you roll.
