Hey Dyl quick question, im new to the game but unsure if this is possible, at 17:30, you had 5 points and could have place one road and got large army, doesnt that give you 5 points? and thus the win? I feel like black's placements aren't very good, but black was caught in a very difficult situation with no wheat spots left. I would probably go for 9 10 double wheat, 11/10/9 to hopefully get to 6/3/11 brick. the total production is pretty weak tho

For transparency's sake, I cut Dylan's negativity sometimes and keep it other times, the former being for the purpose you're bringing up and the latter being that Dylan is a regular human being who experiences different mood swings while he's playing, and I want his viewers to experience him as the person he is. Wow. Colonist is such a great version of the game. Its inaccuracies to the real Catan only affected multiple very pivotal moments in this game and pretty much completely ruined it, as it does almost every game.

@@sgrey9181 While it's not an inaccuracy, the fact misclicks can be so committal really hurts the integrity of the game when your opponents' mistakes can drastically affect your chances to win. I really don't hold it against Colonist too much, although it did affect this game. The real unacceptable inaccuracies are as follows: You cannot see who is accepting a trade when it is offered. This affects strategy a ton since if other people are accepting a trade, you can try to prevent the trade from going through by just accepting it as well. That way, multiple players are competing for the offer. It adds skill and negotiation tactics to the game that otherwise are essentially non-existent. The trading system actually reveals the contents of players' hands. For example, if someone makes an offer of brick for wool, you now know *for sure* that person has a brick. In the real game, trade offers don't necessitate revealing your hand, and in fact don't even allow for it (although it's such a commonly broken rule that official tournaments alter the rule-set to allow it during the trading phase of the game). Another thing that happens is that people who don't manually decline trades will automatically decline the trade if the ask is for cards they do not possess. This gives you perfect information about some parts of the game which are otherwise hidden normally. The entire trading system, and the way Colonist handles domestic and maritime trade, is a disaster. In the real game of Catan, you can trade anything as long as the resources being traded are not like resources. In Colonist, you are automatically forced to use your harbor if it is available. This means you can't, for example, feed someone 4 bricks for one card. This has countless strategy implications. Furthermore, when deals like this are struck, it often leads to "misclicks" where the people involved in the deals accidentally port away the cards they intended to trade. I've seen it happen in tons of tournament games. Further related to harbors, once you own a harbor, you no longer have access to your "lesser" harbors. For example, as soon as you gain access to a 3:1 harbor, you instantly lose the ability to perform a maritime trade at a 4:1 rate. This is not consistent with the rules of Catan, which state that you can always perform maritime trades at a 4:1 rate, and this, again, has serious strategy implications in countless scenarios. I brought all of these issues up with the Colonist team in their Discord. Their reaction was to nearly instantly ban me. I doubt they'll put much stock into fixing it.
