What a cool video idea. I now know who to hit up for tour guide services when I make it out there! Awesome to see the dc2 serving you so well now

Haha, yeah for sure! It's fun to get out and check stuff out and there's still so much I haven't seen. It's funny you mention that because Shio was like, "is this a service people would actually pay for?" I always feel like the adventure is half the fun, but I'm sure there are people who want things planned out to maximize their time and/or some Japanese help to talk to shops or and car owners.

So nice to see so many affordable used brand named parts in a retail establishment. Wish we had that in the USA like they do it in Japan. Would make it more convenient vs the craigslist/Facebook marketplace disasters. We're gonna need you to do much more of these type videos. Like do this as a shake down series after you do big mods or repairs on the Integra. :) Thanks for the content

Appreciate the feedback! I do want to get out and about more this year now that it is running. UpGarage USA is getting ready to open in California. I just saw a post on IG mentioning it. But really depending on the item, shipping from Japan can't actually be pretty reasonable especially when you factor in the crazy exchange rate at the moment. And buying from Japan then opens you up to so many other options versus what's available locally.

Great video, I never knew Tomei was THAT CLOSE to that up garage location! I went there a few months ago and had nooooo clue. Def hitting that up next time. OH and the ASM shop, I didnt know it was that close to Daikoku! lol, learned so much from this video. Thanks yo!

Oh awesome, glad it was helpful. There's really a surprising amount of shops in a small area. Bee-R is pretty close to the Up Garage as well but I didn't realize that until after this. Just takes a lot of hunting for addresses and google mapping locations to kind of plot out a day of running around that makes sense. Tolls get expensive so have to play it smart. haha

Thank you for the breakdown. When i was in Japan in 2016 I visited Spoon hesdquarters. Didnt get to go in as i realized they were closed on Sundays! But the Toyota museum was cool.

Ah yes, that's a really good point. Trying to figure out shop schedules ahead of time is always a challenge and then sometimes they're still closed when you get there (if they're a small shop).

Great info. Japan is next on my list of places to travel to. I can't say I'm looking forward to navigating those roads, I have been told that the in-car navigation is better because it knows which elevation your on.
@BRICKHOUSESPL
@BRICKHOUSESPL 8 ай бұрын
It's really not too bad. You just have to keep in good spirits if you make a wrong turn/exit. The mistakes are part of the journey and what you laugh about later. I'm sure the main rental car companies have English navigation for the in car systems so that might be better than constantly looking down at my phone. Haha. Good luck planning your trip!

Any chance you can make a similar video but in Osaka? I'm going to Osaka with the family in May but I do want to take one or two days to myself to do something car related.

I need to get back to Osaka and do some looking around. I'm just not sure when I'll be able to make it happen. Just start searching by your preferred chassis and I'm sure you'll start finding shops in the area you can plan out visits to.

So my co worker just told me bride and Recaro are the only 2 seats that pass shaken inspection. Have you heard this? Glad i didn't buy any seats yet. Although ill probably go Recaro anyway
@BRICKHOUSESPL
@BRICKHOUSESPL 8 ай бұрын
That is true but what is technically true is the seat rail manufacturer has to match the seat manufacturer. Bride and Recaro both make rails and seats so they're the obvious answers. I'm not sure if Juran rails and Tanida seats pass since they're both Tanida companies (and quality stuff) or if this was a lobbying move by Recaro and Bride to control more of the market.

Can you get to the car meet spot by train?
@BRICKHOUSESPL
@BRICKHOUSESPL 8 ай бұрын
No. You will need to rent a car or ride with someone to get to Daikoku PA. Don't take a taxi. Taxi's won't be there to take you back. Daikoku is a private expressway rest area. It's not part of public transportation so you have to pay the tolls and use the expressway to get there.
