My cats hate close doors. Kittens are much easier to introduce. I have let both times kittens run around and they were fine finding hiding spaces and running around. Closed doors just make my cats meow all night at the door.

Ringworm is not a joke but it is not something to freak out about. No, it is NOT good news but it is very manageable and try not to stress too much. Here is my experience with this. I adopted (2) 8 week old kittens from my local humane society in October 2024. One of them had ringworm (not severe) but she still had it. The humane society did inform me but had sent us home with an oral medication and told me to give it to her for 5 days and that was it! Ringworm should be gone according to them...Well, NOT TRUE! So about 4 weeks later, 4 members of our family showed up with ringworm so we knew she must have still had it. So what did I do? I PANICKED! I took her to the vet and they confirmed she did have some on her ears and a back area by her tail. She DID NOT have any markings or scabbing but we could see that she had some areas of hair that were thin and broken off. The vet tech came in and told me that I had to shampoo all of my couches and rugs, wash all of our bedding, wash all of the clothes in our closet, mop and sanitize all of our floors, etc.,.. (This is enough for a full panic attack and I seriously considered throwing my hands up and quitting and taking them back because I was too stressed out to handle it. I am being honest here because those were my first thoughts I had but here was the problem...I already loved both of the kittens. They are brother and sister and I had grown attached to them. So I called my daughter in law and thank God for her because she calmed my fears and talked with me about her own experiences with her cat having ringworm and what she did to handle it. After speaking to her, I decided to take the ringworm head on and I won! Here is what I did...*Purchased an anti-fungal oral medication from our vet *Bought a wood lamp so I could check her and see the progress *Purchased 'BANIXX' Skin Spray for cats/dogs. *Also purchased 'VETERINARY FORMULA CLINICAL ANTISEPTIC AND ANTI-FUNGAL MEDICATED SHAMPOO FOR CATS & DOGS' (Items on Amazon and they smell great!) I did have an extra room in my home that I was able to confine her in but here was my other problem...she would cry because she was alone so I made the decision to put her brother in the room with her so she wasn't alone and that took care of the crying. Well, I did speak with my vet about that and she had suggested I simply treat both of them since her brother did not have ringworm but would run the risk of catching it from her being in the same room. So that is exactly what I did... They were both treated the exact same way. I would give the meds as prescribed, I sprayed the BANIXX skin spray on 4 times per day, I also did the medicated bath 2 times per week and used the wood lamp to keep an eye on the progress, I sanitized the room they stayed in EVERY day and yes, I did thoroughly clean my home. Well, after 3 weeks of dedicated work on the cats, the ringworm is gone and has stayed away! I have never felt so proud of myself as I did at that point. The female cat's hair grew back in that area and she is totally healthy now. Her brother never got ringworm and my family's ringworm is gone. We used an anti-fungal topical and it took about 5 weeks to go away but we are good now! I am so happy I took the steps because now I have my 2 babies and they are amazing! Hang in there! You can do it!...Just an FYI, I chose NOT to use the lime sulfur wash for the ringworm because I have read that it can be very traumatic for the cat and the smell is terrible BUT it does work so....I went this other route and it worked beautifully! The key is consistency! You cannot skip treatments. You must be aggressive with consistency because ringworm can be aggressive. I hope my story helps someone who may be having anxiety about dealing with ringworm. You can do it!

This video gives me so much hope that my adult cat can get along with my 2 kittens. Most cat intro techniques require 2 people, with playing and feeding and that is not suitable for me. This video shows alternative techniques that will seriously help me with my cats. I have seen some little signs of them getting along with the use of tuna and puree treats, but I am still cautious with them. My kittens are curious and have no fear, so I am considering a cat harness to assist with the intro.

Oh and our dog was a rescue we adopted him from the shelter he used to hate cats I got him out of it and he loves my Tom cat so much he acts like a cat now so technically I have 4 cats except the 4 the one is a cat dog

I have a 6 week old that’s the runt but my oldest Tom cat is 3 and he was the runt and he’s way bigger than his siblings and his mother and father he’s a big boy but he’s still our baby he’s so lovable he always takes in new kittens when we get them like out second oldest boy he’s 1 year old Tom thinks he’s his son and now jasper the baby is 6 weeks old I have 3 Tom cats that live happily in the same house together people told me it wasn’t possible hahaha😂 if you know what your doing in socializing them young and raise them right it possible my three Tom cats are proof of that and we have a dog in the house also he’s about the same size as my Tom cat they treat each other like siblings

I separated my new kitten (3month old) in a area of my studio with pet gate and curtain. While my resident cat (10month old) has free access to the other parts of the room and bedroom. But Everytime I open the pet gate, little one would dart out. And she’ll go right to the resident cat without fear. However resident cat will hiss n howl Should I just pull open the curtains, let them hiss it out through the pet gate?

Im treating 7 cats and my question is how affective is washing the bedding. I am using the sanitary cycle which is 1hr45 minutes and also a short wash with about 1/2 cup of bleach in the sanitary cycle. Is this okay to kill the spores? Plus high heat dry for 1 hour

IF your resident older cat (over 10) isn't it wiser for all concerned to possibly wait until you say goodbye to the resident cat - then get kittens for everyone's sake. Some do not have the patience & sadly return kitties 😻😔😊

Is this oral medication really necessary to heal ringworm or are the topical solutions enough to kill this fungal infection?

I adopted a 3 year old cat, it has been 3 months now. He is sweet, loves to play fetch, hugs (human kind) but he gets aggressive toward my other two cats especially my girl, they are the same age. All spade and neutered. The only time they get along is treats but once treats are done claws come out. I feel bad when I go to work, he's in the room by himself. My adult cat wants to bite the kitten, he doesn't even hiss or growl, just run at her and bites her on the back of the neck.
