Oceanic was for sure not designed with comfort over speed. She was designed mostly as an enlarged version of the Teutonic/Majestic pair with a 21 knot service speed. The other important aspect of the Cymric and Big four is that their lower speed took up so much less space in their hulls, allowing to take onboard much more payload. Oceanic was not at all in this category, having boilers taking up a huge portion of her hull.

@@dovetonsturdee7033 good ole JP morgan. Titanic sister ship Olympic was in two serious accidents under CaptainEdward smith. @@williegillie5712 Don't show your ignorance. RMS Olympic was in one collision, in September, 1911, when she was in the charge of a Solent Pilot. She returned to Belfast, where Harland & Wolff repaired her, and she was back at sea by late November, 1911. Repair costs were £25,000 which was a nuisance, but nothing more for a company which had made a profit of around £1 million in the previous financial year. In November, 1911, Titanic was around four-five months from completion. There are even photographs of the two together in Belfast in October. Titanic is the one with only one funnel in place, some superstructure missing, and, of course, lacking her White Star paintwork. Your 'unsalvagable' ship had made several more Transatlantic voyages before Titanic set out in April, 1912, and was on her way from New York to Southampton when she received Titanic's distress call. If you people spent less time swallowing absurd, fact free, conspiracy fantasy videos, and actually read a few real books, you might learn a few facts?

Stopped watching after one minute... 1) The first shot which is implied to be Titanic moving astern on her voyage is in fact Olympic. 2) 'Instead of looking at Titanic or Britannic, let's look at White Star Lines' Olympic-class liners.' Olympic was the first, hence Olympic, Titanic and Britannic were ALL Olympic-class liners.

How did the Olympic go on sailing after being hit badly by the British war ship the Hawk I believe??? She was supposed to be a write off! She even had to have the screw taken off the Titanic and put on her after the accident! That screw is on the Titanic somehow right now???? Also the letters are falling off the Titanic right now and under them is the letters from the Olympic! Seems like there's been some evil doings going on!!! Also they had to put a extra deck on Olympic for stability and somehow it's on the Titanic???? Remember the California that could have saved everyone on the Titanic? She left port full of coal when there was a strike and all the ships were having a hard time getting coal and she was only carrying heavy sweaters??? They can say there's nothing to it but I believe that it's the Olympic that sunk not the Titanic!!!! How does a ship that has been damaged so badly that she was supposed to be a write off go on sailing all those years after the bad damage she took? They said that she would have had to have been cut in half and practically rebuilt completely to keep sailing and that's why she was supposed to be a write off!!!! We will know eventually when the rest of the letters fall off the so called Titanic!!! That's if they don't disappear somehow!!!

The Titanic and Olympic were not switched. They weren’t even 100% identical and were only together for a maximum of 44 days which definitely isn’t enough time to completely change two large ships to perfectly disguise them as each other. There were also many people investigating the Titanic and Olympic the entire time they were together so if they even tried to disguise those two ships as each other, there’s no way they would’ve succeeded in doing it without getting caught so if they were switched, everyone would’ve found out about it back in 1912 when the disaster happened and it would’ve been in every newspaper ever written about the disaster.

Okay, they were switched in harbor, and you can prove it yourself. There is one clear difference from Olympic to Titanic: a square porthole-looking thing on the B deck. You will find this square hole on the olymipic in 1911 in her sea trials pictures, but well, that hole disappears in April 1912 - how weird. There is a picture of the Titanic in construction in the dock with her name visible. Guess what? No square hole, but after April 1912, Titanic has a square hole in the same place i woould post pictures. I wonder, are square holes contagious?

You might wish to explain one or two more obvious problems, such as why does the wreck have a window pattern at the forward end of 'B' deck which accords with that of Titanic & differs from the Olympic of 1912, and why was the number 401 observed on the blade of a propellor at the site?

Leviathan's success with the United States Lines was hindered by Prohibition forcing her to run as a "dry ship". The Immigration Act of 1924 also did not help matters. Despite these adversities, Leviathan still managed to gain an impressive following. In 1926 for example, Leviathan had an average of 1,300 passengers per voyage, making her the second most popular liner on the transatlantic route that year. And in 1927, Leviathan was the most popular ship on the transatlantic route, carrying 40,537 passengers over 28 crossings, averaging 1,448 per crossing. The Great Depression became the final nail in the coffin. At one point, Leviathan was losing over $75,000 for every round trip. It's a damn shame too, because Leviathan was a really beautiful ship, and she had a loyal passenger following despite all the adversity.

Well why did the captain turn toward the ice field Vs turning away? Why was the Californian stopped with 0 passengers but had almost 2,500 life-belts? Why was the crew told to keep a sharp eye out? The sad part is we will never know the truth, but I doubt the Olympic sailed for 20 years or whatever with a broken back
@Tozzpot500
@Tozzpot500 Ай бұрын
Titanic actually corrected her course to avoid the ice field however the ice was moving as well so she encountered it just the same. Californian had stopped for the night due to her small size and the captains orders. She had no passengers as she was on a cargo trip. She did not have 2500 life belts on board her cargo was reported as "mixed general cargo and mail". Californians crew were never ordered to keep a close eye out they were told to be on watch for sea ice. As for Olympic breaking her back thats a load of bs. Her keel was never damaged and she was put back into service in 8 weeks. Keep in mind Titanic didnt have her engines installed at this point let alone amything else making a switch impossible.
@thomasgreen8894
@thomasgreen8894 Ай бұрын
@Tozzpot500 yeah I know the Califorin couldn't do shit even if they wanted. A better question is why was Stanley Lords ship even there? I mean, it had a full crew & no passengers but had 3000 life-belts.. idk I believe 1 ship was sank for insurance money. I find it hard to believe the Olympic sailed 20 years with a broken back.
@Tozzpot500
@Tozzpot500 Ай бұрын
@@thomasgreen8894 The loss of Titanic ruined WSL as both ships were heavily underinsured. Titanic sinking literally destroyed WSL and they never recovered from her loss. Olympic never broke her keel and even if she did that wouldnt matter. H&W had a reputation of being able to fix anything. A few years prior to the Hawke collsion H&W literally blew up half a ship and then built her a new bow this being SS Suevic. Meaning even if Olympic had broken her keel it could have been fixed and WSL would have done so because Olympic WAS BRAND NEW. As for why Californian was there? She was stopped due to the ice and Titanic's new course put her 15 miles away. Californian had snuffed most of her boilers and besides a watch crew for icebergs everyone else had gone to sleep. Her cargo manifest was detailed as being "mixed general cargo and mail". She was never carrying 2500 life preservers. Her crew also outright ignored distress signals from Titanic until Carpathia arrived. No one made money and the damage to Olympic you have grossly over exagerated. Read the naval enquiry from the collision and the H&W repair logs which have tons of photographs of the repairs. In total they took six weeks and cost £25,000 which Olympic paid off in total after her first voyage back. There was no insurance scam, switching the ships is impossible in the given time frame and a detailed paper trail utterly destroys the idea of a conspiracy.
