Well let's see, our economy was great with tarrifs before and then tanked after tarrifs were ended and income tax created. I say let's go back to tarrifs.

When it comes to Trump, EVERYTHING is a grift. Those industries willing to pay for lobbyists to make backdoor deals and donations will suddenly find “loopholes.” Those that don’t… sorry. Those who think this is about “restoring American jobs” all I can say is, you’ve been had. The sad part is he doesn’t care if he craters the economy, as long as he and his inner circle make money. America, you’ve been conned by a conman. The difference though is that he TOLD you he was going to con you, and you let him do it anyway.

Is there a middle ground because your examples seem more on the extreme that foreign countries decide to not do business. They still make money with tariffs and will continue to do business, we get income, protect our business, and build our economy. As we find balance we reduce tariffs and do great business where the whole world wins!
@concernedcitizen20762 сағат бұрын
The tariffs will of cause be product selective as in EU right now not general on a specific country. So you are talking nonsense.

Talk about 40 million Americans losing their health insurance, or you sons, daughters, nieces, grandchildren, incurring monstrous debt for an education, or your parents and grandparents losing medicare and social security. benefits, or you and your wife not being able to afford childcare. What is a country for? For making a minority wealthy or for taking care of people's needs?

I think everyone is missing the goal Trump has. He wants the companys to build it in America. Toyota has factories that employ Americans in the United States. This is the vision. Build it in America. Also, seems like all the Kamala supporters forgot the supply chain issues we had just a few years ago. During that time we saw massive inflation. Final point, to everyone in the comments with TDS, people want lower taxes and more take home pay.

What is to prevent domestic manufacturers from raising their production prices to the tariff price? And of course if there is no domestic manufacturer, these will not simply spring up overnight to supply the same product, even at the tariff price. Here the critical element will be the availability of manufacturing labor at a wage level sufficient to start up a manufacturer, and US manufacturing wages are pretty low these days. But here Trump wants to deport the cheapest pool of labor, undocumented immigrants. This will exacerbate the relative shortage of cheap labor. The only solution to that will be a deep recession that spikes up the unemployment rate, expanding the pool of workers desperate to work at any wage.

This is sounding more like a massive con to allow them to usher in corruption and theft from the system. Worse quality goods, lower standard of living, less income. It sounds like they are creating a system that conditions us to live with much less so that they can steal more. Their greed has no bounds.
