I hated how Blue Sub no 6 ended. You can kind of head canon Verg's defeat might humble him and put Mutio in a better position, but I wish they would have done better by her.

I probably watched flcl at just the right time in life but I wasn't media literate then so things like this I didn't really grasp but I recall thinking it was important somehow. The way they talk in a sort of non-sequitur way sometimes kinda threw me off too. I've been meaning to give this a rewatch some 20 years later

So you could say that NGE’s ending is what happens when you realize you should love yourself, and EoE is what happens when you deny it. I’ve seen so many theories on the endings and if they connected (including in the rebuilds) and I don’t see any of them as wrong since I believe you were meant to have you own take on it, and we were meant to receive the message differently Edit: Watched the rebuilds, now I know they are all connected

I thought the same too! I too recently came across this anime and I really enjoyed it, Mutio is so cute and pretty. But its one of the most obscured animes, and it's not without it's flaws. I wish we had more of Blue 6 anything like fan arts or something. It has some unique character designs and world but it deserved more runtime.

If anyone is going to watch to series for the first time I recommend ep1-24 then the movie called End of Evangelion then the final 2 episodes of the series. Trust me it will make a lot more sense.

having just watched the show it was uncanny the resemblance I felt between Shinji’s personality and my younger self I hated it and almost dropped the show but i was curious and it drew me in. Im glade im not like that anymore though we all have moments of weakness, I actually enjoyed episode 26 the most but the End of Evangelion film really did tie up the shows loose ends I can understand the outrage some people must have had since the overarching plot was put on hold to focus on the main character for ep 26.

I was never an Anime guy, my sister convinced me to watch Evangelion, I genuinely came out a different person and this video sums it up nicely.
