thank you for such a good quality video Alan... been wrenching since i was a kid in the 60's but i was on the fence about changing out the spark plugs on my girlfriends 2011 WRX on account of the close quarters n all... so i goggled, "how to", and your video came up... thanks again Alan, gonna pimp her ride out with the good stuff tomorrow!

I've seen anywhere from 30 to 34 ft/lbs for the oil drain plug, I typically aim for around 33 ft lbs

I wish you went into more detail about how to get the bank 4 coil pack back in, because I have been absolutely struggling to get it back in. For one hour now and I cannot seem to figure it out. You kinda flew over it in this video.

The 2005 one wasnt too terrible. The only things i didn't really like was Itsuki as the leader of the speedstars and Takumi's dad being a violent drunk because I'm pretty sure he wasn't an alcholic originally. Otherwise it was a decent car movie. Should've had Keisuke in it but ya win some lose some. The new one from Sung Kang should be good though definitely plan on seeing it once it gets made.

Yea the 2005 one wasn't too shabby, I think there was a bit too much to fit in one movie that they ended up leaving out key characters and mixed up a couple important sequence of events but I'm looking forward to seeing what Sung Kang can do

@@STi_Alan I agree. Even though they set it up for a sequel they probably thought it was good enough to cram as much in there as possible in case it didn't do too good. If they had made it longer than an hour forty five minutes it might've been paced a bit better

You have no idea how many times I've come back to watch your videos, such as this one. Simple and straight to the point. Although, I'm not sure why it says I haven't subscribed to your channel. Which I thought I had? Either way, I'll subscribe again.. For context, we've owned Subaru vehicles since the late 80s/early 90s. Cylinder 4 might require a bit of extra maneuvering and patience. I was able to get the coil pack in with the bolt facing the wrong side in order to get the boot over the spark plug, then I could rotate it to the correct position

I dont see anybody talking about resetting the throttle or idle or any of that after removing the battery. Do the 19+ STI's relearn everything on its own or you have to do something to it?
@STi_Alan
@STi_Alan 2 ай бұрын
While things like the accessories, (time/date, passenger window etc.) will have to be reset when removing the battery, the ecu will relearn on its own as you drive and the tune will not be affected

@@STi_Alan thank you brother! I did my spark plugs recently and the car’s throttle acted funny for a few miles. I read somewhere that the throttle position had to relearn. The idle as well. It’s been great since! The spark plugs aren’t as bad as people say, you just have to get creative and/or be good at Tetris lol

Thank you for the video, it is really helpful. However, based on 202 STI service manual, both filelr plug and drain plug of the 10mm Hex type should be torqued to 36.9 ft-lb. The T70 TORX drain plug should be torqued to 51.6 ft-lb. BTW, the front jack point is spot on.
